Fellow Reds,
I'm not getting too carried away but the fixture list for all challengers makes great reading for us.
Obviously, Spurs are in the driving seat with the points on the board but that was a truly big win today and keeps the door slightly ajar.
Considering that most teams above us still have to play each other, if we can keep chipping away we have a big chance still.
Of all the teams above, I feel Chelsea are in the biggest danger of missing out. We can deffo turn them over on our patch and now they have a F.A. Cup reply as well as fixtures piling up in The Europa League and the League. They have to play us at Anfield and Man Utd in the League, also.
Pretty sure Spurs and Arsenal still have to play City and Man Utd, so there is a possibility of further inroads being made!
It's just sad that we didn't have these signings at the beginning of the season (Sturridge/Coutinho) although fair play to BR, cos he needed half a season to work out that Skrtel and a few others are not up to par.
Got to give Downing some credit too. Finally found his gonads after a season and a half of wearing 'the heavy LFC shirt'. Not magnificent, but a massive improvement and finally getting goals and assists.
Very, very optimistic for the near future and next season and dare I say it, the rest of this season!!!
What do you reckon after today's result guys?

great result of course, but the underlying signs weren't that good.
we were at home but from about the middle of the first half, spurs looked comfortable and in control. In addition, they carried a goal threat. on the otherhand, we looked shaky at the back, lacked pace and power in midfield, and a bit ragged up front. great first goal but the other two were lucky.
a fantastic result of course, but we have a lot of work to do if we are going to compete next season.

I'm looking forward to a positive end to the season and hopefully an improvement next but I can't see much hope in us getting 4th. I think that theres too much work to do and the teams above us are better at the moment.

Table's starting to look pretty tasty I must admit, keeps things interesting for now anyway.
Be nice if a few results go our way in the next couple of weeks.

It's an outside hope. But anything can happen. We actually won 3 games on the trot, haven't we?

its possible, but one bad result i.e a defeat to anyone, and the hope pretty much gone.
Just have to live game to game and hope other teams slip. I think we've got a good chance at 5th, but it might be too little to late for 4th

Definitely agreed.
We just have to keep on winning EVERY game. Practically mission impossible, but saying that, we have players in the Team (Carra, Agger, SG, Reina, Johnson) who have experience of going on good runs under Rafa, when we used to be able to push on.
Win the next couple and it is definitely game on. Someone else mentioned 5th is the most likely and tend to agree but just hoping that the others above just keep taking points or maybe it'd be better for Spurs to and secure 3rd cos that would alienate Chelsea down into the mix with us and the Gooners.
Just goes to show how poor Everton have been in the last 4 weeks. Legs have completely gone!!!!

Chelsea, in fourth spot are 7 points ahead of us and have a game in hand. I honestly can't see us making up that ground.
5th however is another story, I feel there are enough games left for us to catch Arsenal if our current form continues.
