fair enough Dunk, apologies ben, wasnt trying to scuper your research. i believe most fans dont have any connection with foreign owners, or even with domestic owners for that matter, not at this level and my opinion would be that fans opinions or way down the food chain. SOS get entertained to keep them quite due to their militant nature. i dont think they are particularly beneficial to the club and dont represent the majority of fans.

im a dude, and lets just say im in my thirties. just about. wink good luck with the research.

Ben I think there is almost no engagement with the foreign owners current,y and the fans in my perception are no more than a commodity. I have followed Liverpool since about 1964 and have seen a gradual change in the lack of engagement but ths seemed to accelerate when sky took over and once the trend of speculative Firesign owners took over the engagement fell away yo nothing. We now have an owner we have not seen for almost a year for example and his only communication with us is when we interpret something he utters via twitter. A ridiculous state of affairs. Most of the support at anfield is like myself long term habit we are doing nothing to attract new paying customers for the long term. I happen to believe premiership football is nt healthy and in fact has serious problems that will emerge in the next few years. As for spirit of shankly I have little to do with them and I don't believe they represent the majority f fans who attend anfield. My personal view is there needs to be a wider group formed with real power representing the fans of all clubs potentially with te power to strike or take other coordinated action. The problem is not exclusive to Liverpool FC.

I hope that helps Male and in my mid fifties.

Ben , stan made some good points and I will add that the club has changed so much even before foreign owners it crept in , and as I say don't get sucked in by the spirit of shankly they represent themselves not the vast majority , they are a flawed group of militants , who think they are the club and are not as i say ,keep researching don't just find the stuff they put out in the public as correct it is not, good luck mate , I am 43 and been a season ticket holder since 1977/78 season I was 7, been all over the UK Europe watching LFC but just go the home games now ,good luck and keep researching .

Do you consider this post helpful?

Any less helpful then comparing a former great manager to the vulgar jimmy saville? I notice that was ok? So in all fairness by those standards my post is fine ,unless you're advocating double standard's?

Well Dunk I reported a post that I thought was offensive toward me and I heard nothing back. What are we meant to do in that instance?

Also if 2 or 3 people agree with another poster it doesn't necessarily mean we are ganging up on someone else.

If we are getting to the point were we cannot crack a joke anymore well then it will be a poorer site for that.

The only person ganged up upon is cool flames as far as I can see. Faz took a bit recently but to be fair he does tend to not let things ride which makes him a target.

So generically it's just cool. But he is keeping to the rules and he does talk sense most of the time, But he can annoy myself included when he accused me of being an armchair fan after damn near 50 years of going tto anfield.

But that's life and I think what people need to do is leave off cools back and if you don't agree with what he says then ignore him. And all will be well. In defence of cool, I will say this any forum needs controversy and interest otherwise people get bored. I have noticed in the periods he is banned the forum is very slow people like to argue on forums it's. a fact of life. But what we have to do is stop the insults and if you can't do that say nowt

That's my advice.

I would agree with the main thrust of your post there Stanley, but I was amazed by the extent of the gratuitous ganging up on Faz there and I was wondering how long it would be before Dunk put a stop to it. To his credit he did.
Regarding the OPs research all I can add is this; The Spirit of Shankly has taken positions around ownership and funding with which I'd be in broad agreement myself, but apart from that I don't know a lot about them. I've followed LFC a long time, the clue is in the name, and I've seen owners come and go and most are best forgotten and as things stand our current owners need to shape up considerably or they too will belong in that class! I've never had any contact with owners nor do I want to, as my preferred type of ownership is fan only, similar to Barca or something like they now have in Germany. I am a retired male, don't get over from Ireland as often as I did in former times due to living on my pension and the increased cost for travel and ticket deals.
