i dont think anyone is under the illusion that they are a european force, not to the point that they are the main force anyway. cfc did what they had to do last year but they werent the best team, it was a patch up job. roy keane just mentioned it , the premier league is a great product , but this is a wake up call because the premier league is not the best in europe, and he is right i think . which league is better then... Germany and Spain.

The only reason we've been so good in recent years is because of the pace we play at and our ayers are generally stronger. We've just mistaken that for footballing ability.

It is exciting and good to watch can't deny that. And the you have games with the likes of Stoke and West Ham and it takes a turn for the worse.

English league is regarded as most competitive league, does that make it the best? not necessarily, but it does for english fans i suppose. I cant say i watch much German football but it doesnt excite me at club level, nor does French football. Spanish football seems to just be the top 2 playing each other every week. Give me English footbally any day of the week.

english football is the best package. its staged extremely well. the programming is good, the pundits are good, everything is slick. thats what makes it globally appealling. watch a german league match and you lose the will to live.

pundits are awful then again bbc coverage, i suppose you get to see former great players on the box which is good enough, but tis a good package but I think thats just cos the football is exciting.
On the continent they have really boring management styles with technical directors politics and all that , whereas in england Mike Basset style management is just how we like it

And how many teams win the league here then?
You always get teams that will dominate in any league. But for me the standard of football is much better in Spain and from what I've seen Germany too. And even the "holiday destinations" we're pretty good. Better than Scarborough that's for sure.
