that we had negative goal difference for the first 11 games of the season. We turned positive on 12th game when we thumped wigan 3-0 in mid-november.

For the next 14 games, we got used to BR's system and played some of the best football the country has seen this season.

After 28 games, we are top 5 in terms of goal difference with +19.

In terms of overall goals scored, we are joint-3rd highest in the league with 53 goals. We are behind the scum (68) and chavs (56).

Not bad at all considering I had my doubts whether we'll finish the season with positive goal difference back in November.

If we continue and play even better for the last 10 games, I'm pretty sure we'll finish the season as 2nd highest scoring team in the league above the likes of citeh and chavs. This considering the fact that we had only 1 recognised striker in the first team until sturridge arrived in Jan.

I'm looking forward to next season already.

Is that an improvement on last season, dare I say it???

I have been infuriated at times last season, but I have enjoyed it a lot. I feel like I'm watching Liverpool again. I looked forward to the way this season would develop. It's not all that I expected, but I'm pleased. In the league, we've done better, and if the season progresses on this trajectory, we'll finish a bit higher. If we finish 6th this season, that's 2 places better. If we finish two places better next season (doable considering the abysmal start we had and our improved consistency, new signings and goal scoring form) then we will finish 4th by the end of next season.

However, we may very well finish 5th this season with the way Everton and Arsenal have been playing, leaving only one place left to catch and still maintaining European football. 4th looks unlikely, but if Chelsea drop it, it is still mathematically possible.

If we finish 6th, which looks fairly likely, I will be not satisfied, but content for a rebuilding season. If higher, I will be thrilled.

I knew...some of that. I am very impressed with how many goals we are scoring. Last season if a team scored first all we could hope for was a draw because there was NO WAY we would score 2 or more goals. We've been putting teams below us to the sword. Let's see what happens this weekend against Spurs. I have a feeling it's going to be a good game.
