Just to get this out of the way, I'm not in any way entertaining the thought that we can Rick Roll our way into 4th, just entertaining thoughts of how high up the table we can possibly finish this season..

What is striking is that the majority of the teams above us all have to play each other still - plenty of points to be dropped there. Arsenal look to have the better run in, Chelsea have been included in the list because their technically below Tottenham - and Swansea was excluded because they're below us: the ball's in our court, so to speak.

CHELSEA: PLD 28, PTS 52.

WHAM, SOUTHAMPTON, SUNDERLAND, TOTTENHAM, LIVERPOOL, SWANSEA, UTD, ASTON VILLA, EVERTON

TOTTENHAM: PLD 27, PTS 51.

ARSENAL, LIVERPOOL, FULHAM, SWANSEA, EVERTON, CHELSEA, MAN CITY, WIGAN, SOUTHAMPTON, STOKE

ASENAL: PLD 27, PTS 47.

TOTTENHAM, SWANSEA, READING, WEST BROM, NORWICH, EVERTON, FULHAM, UTD, QPR, WIGAN, NEWCASTLE

EVERTON: PLD 28, PTS 45.

MAN CITY, STOKE, TOTTENHAM, QPR, ARSENAL, SUNDERLAND, FULHAM, LIVERPOOL, WHAM, CHELSEA

LIVERPOOL: PLD 28, PTS 42.

TOTTENHAM, SOUTHAMPTON, ASTON VILLA, WHAM, READING, CHELSEA, NEWCASTLE, EVERTON, FULHAM, QPR

*Chelsea seem to be missing a fixture, can't find it though (?)

This thread has nothing to do with Suarez simply our remaining fixtures please think before u spout abc.

Good thread Mike think with the fixtures in mind if we win out next 3 and Arsenal/Everton/Spurs drop any points at all we can make a last gasp push for fourth, although i expect us to get 6th i'd like to see us put in a good fight for it.

Cheers, got my colouring pens out 'n all laugh

It'd be nice to finish on a high, wrap up as many points as possible and end the season on the up.

It doesn't matter if teams around us drop points to boost us up the table - that's the nature of the league from day one.
It's interesting that all those above us pretty much have to play each other still, we just need to peg em' back one at a time... 5th would be a great finish from where we lie now.

I think the best way to judge how good you are is always by the yardstick which is how far you are behind the Champions, this is the way we used to do things years ago and it still the same method so called big clubs use. I think knowing the way we have slipped we will use how far behind fourth place we finish, our fourth place went half way through February this season, cant remember when last years went, maybe we could use this method...

Tottenham have the toughest fixtures, chelsea will i think get 3rd, so would have to hope for arsenal to really f*** up to even have a chance. Still possible, at least the season is not definitively finished at this stage..

I wouldn't for one second suggest we have a chance of 4th... but it will be an interesting couple of months.

If Arsenal beat spurs I can see them getting it but it's crucial now we show the teams improved through the season. We need to show players like Suarez that we're going places and the owners need to act fast in the summer.

Didn't see the game but looks like Coutinho's started well. Great transfer window by BR and hopefully the owners will back him more confidently in the summer.

I was thinking about this match last night... what's the better result for us???

1) A win for Tottenham keeps Arsenal within our sights just 5pts ahead, same games played. But at the same time it would leave us trailing Tottenham by 12pts..

2) A win for Arsenal takes them 8pts clear of us, but reels in Tottenham and keeps them 9pts clear of us. The fact we play them next could chop their advantage to 6pts should we beat them..

3) A draw. A draw would leave Arsenal 6pts clear of us, Tottenham 10pts. Nothing really changes with this outcome, but it does prevent Arsenal and Tottenham respectively opening up a gap between ourselves and Everton..

For me it'd have to be an Arsenal win, followed closely by a draw I guess. The odds of us getting 4th are slim to none, but the longer it's mathematically possible the more interesting our season will be - same applies to stealing 5th.
