What a ridiculous comment. NO MANAGER is "guaranteed" to do better than his predecessor.

you only think its ridiculous because you want Rodgers sacked, the same when you wanted Dalglish sacked.

The perfect example of it was when Benitez was sacked and replaced by Hodgson, everyone knew he would not make any improvements, you either have a top manager lined up or you give the current one a chance to develop his team over a number of seasons.

Not true at all. I KNOW that dalglish's replacement wouldn't be a 'guaranteed' improvement, but that's no reason to keep him. The same applies to Rodgers. The whole idea of keeping someone just because the successor isn't going to be a 'guaranteed' improvement is beyond insanity. If someone is underperforming you get rid of them - end of.

Some people are not happy until we get a really good manager.

Surely the point is to replace him with someone who has in your opinion a better chance of succeeding? Who are the options?

His potential replacement is a different conversation and would take a very predictabel route.....

1) I suggest a replacement
2) BR fans say thathe wouldn't come to us or he's not good enough

I see no point in going down that path in this thread. Regardless of who our next manager might be, BR isn't good enough for us. Finding his replacement is a different issue. You don't just keep someone because their successor cannot guarantee success, otherwise he'll be with us forever!.

He should be kept or sacked depending on what FSG's expectations of him are. If they sack him, great, as it means they plan for us to be in the CL. If they keep him, it just suggests that they are happy hovering around mid-table with their hand picked yes man until they sell up.

Have you ever watched the likes of Newcastle v Southampton, Villa v Norwich for example???

When you watch teams like this play each other, it's proper end to end, gaps all over the park, freedom to run and shoot... I love watching these sorts of fixtures when I get a chance - and here in lies the difference between us and Swansea, West Brom ect...

We might not be as strong as we were a few years back, but we're still a cup final for a lot of teams out there. They'll run their sox off, defend like their lives depended on it - it's like watching us play against a team of Carraghers laugh
(minus the own goals confused )

What I'm getting at is expectation levels at each club individually - more importantly, how the opposition deal with each team individually. We're still a big "name" scalp, teams raise their games against us.

Walking into a management post at West Brom or a Swansey at this moment in time would be a shed load easier than taking on the Liverpool job - Don't know if you've noticed, but we've been an absolute mess for the last couple of years... whistle

...financial troubles, ownership troubles... management troubles... how do you think this effects a teams spirit???
Hahaaa... why not, you can chuck team spirit troubles in there too for good measure - know I'd be broken too after the second half of last season.

You need to accept where we are at the moment and be realistic about it. After all the sh1t that's gone on lately at the club - where exactly should we be if this season / manager is such a disaster???

It's easy to get disheartened when we get the odd bad result, we're all guilty of - but then there's others on here who are just acting like spoilt brats, or no it alls without any of the answers..

Some posters on here seriously need to wake the hell up.
