Sorry, making Suarez captain for me is like making Joey Barton, Stan Collymore or Duncan Ferguson captain, just doesn't make sense at all, you need a player level headed and cool under pressure, not somebody who acts like a petulant child everytime a decision goes against him. I think the other thing people need to realise is that Suarez is gone next season regardless, think if your looking for a captain Lucas is about the best available or maybe this Williams who is supposed to be linked with from Swansea... And Luis Suarez has told you this? How about prefacing this statement with "I think that..." IS that the same Suarez that you told us would leave in the January window? i never said he was certain to go in January, just that there was a strong possibility he would, I think the summer transfer window is always the more likely just like I expect Falcao to leave Arhletico, the January window is not a good one to do business in and don't forget Suarez would of been no good to anyone as he is cuptied. I would like to think the money we get in the summer for Suarez will be given to another manager as Rodgers transfers for me have not been good enough, Sturridge apart...

I think Suarez would be an exceptional captain, he has all the right qualities...and hunger for the game. He Is an exceptional character and a real leader and is sorting out his negative traits at great speed. I want someone with character to captain us, not Mother Theresa....while Lucas has been great he doesn't seem to have the same hunger and leadership quality as Luis does. If not Luis, the Agger is my next choice. As to whether Luis will be here next season, I'll save my "I told you so" for then....

its all about opinions though. Personally I would see no problem having suarez as captain because of his competitive nature which I think means he is constantly striving for better performances which a good captain needs to drag his team with him. I would be happy with any of Lucas, Agger or Suarez personally

I would be happy with any of Lucas, Agger or Suarez personally If he cut the diving out I'd be happy to see him as Captain, but didn't he openly say that he'd cheat if we're not winning. "I was accused of falling inside the box in a match and it's true I did it that time, because we were drawing against Stoke at home and we needed anything to win it". His determination is a good asset for a Captain, but the cheating side of his game isn't. This is why I'd most likely go with Agger

I have notices that he has cut down on his diving quite a bit and his moaning at referees, which let's be frank, he needs to. Obviously I wouldn't make him captain just yet but within a year or two if he progresses the way he has I would love him as captain!
As far as leading by example goes, I don't know of any player who has led by example more than Luis! He has been blatantly honest, admitted to his mistakes, is trying really hard to erradicate his bad habits and to add to this he is always giving 110% on the field, the same in the 94th minute as in the 1st minute. He has shown what playing for LFC means to him, he has shown that he will give his absolute all for the team and club. If that's not leading by example I don't know what is.
I believe that settles that argument.
He does have a bit of a temper but he is working on it and it's not necessarily a bad thing.
I agree with Elliot that I'd be happy with any 3 of Lucas, Agger or Suarez although personally my choices would be Suarez and Agger....

Jut a question for those who voted for Kelly, what qualities do you in him that would make him a good captain? I like the lad but I don't think he is a great leader. Perhaps you see something I don't, could you explain your choice?

I really think there gonna have to sign a captain myself, even think Rodgers was hinting at there was nobody or not enough Carragher types in the dressing room...

personally im not to keen on any of them candidates, none of them really have any of gerrard's or carraghers leadership credentials, hopefully gerrard will still play for at least another 2 years and we will have someone to step into his shoes when he does decide to call it a day.

The thing is, Stevie will probably play for another 2 years bit I doubt he will be a regular starter and I don't see the point of him being captain if he's not on the field for half of the games....
