With Stevie G not getting any younger and Carra announcing his retirement, I was wondering who could be our next captain and vice-captain. Seeing that Reina is most probably leaving in the summer in my eyes we only have 3 options for those 2 positions. 1.Agger 2.Lucas 3.Suarez.

Now these are 3 players who's commitment is unquestionable, who's passion is plain to see. Given that Agger is a bit Injury prone I can realistically only see 2 options, Lucas and Suarez.

Now, even with everything that has surrounded Luis in the past, if I were BR I would name him as captain for several reasons. Firstly, it would perhaps make it a wee bit harder for FSG to sell him, secondly he is an outstanding individual, a hard worker, someone who has overcome many many obstacles in life, he has a love for the game and passion which is undeniable and most of all he has a hunger for winning which is what LFC need in the team.

I think Suarez would be a fantastic captain! What are your thoughts?

Also I just wanted to add another 2 reasons why I think Luis should be our next captain....1. He's South American (born with passion) 2. Oh, you already know....

So what are your thoughts?
Our next captain
single choice

Not many votes yet but I am surprised no one has gone for Agger...is it because he is injury prone or is another reason? He clearly wants to be at LFC and gives his all....

I'm putting Suarez as captain mainly to make it harder for us to sell him. It might put his value up so worst case scenario we get an inflated price for him. In reality I would probably have gone for Lucas as captain as he would drive the players on.

Fair enough Maxi...personally I went for Suarez for a number of reasons but I think I would like Agger as vice captain. I think he is LFC all the way. It's a very tough choice for me between him and Lucas as vice captain, Lucas has shown so much determination and hard work (plus he's south American laugh ) but I just feel Agger has more loyalty to LFC, or so it appears to me! I love the great Dane!

my personal opinion is suarez will be gone in the summer so thers no point in him being given the arm band my reason is the team is heading in the right direction under br but it is goin to be a couple of seasons before we see any major challenges for trophies and i think thats to long for suarez to wait and if one of the top sides come in for him with the right offer he will go because lets face it we are a good few seasons of even challenge for the top 4 hard to take but its true and in the summer there will be even more swapping and changes with the squad.

I dont know, I think Luis will be with us for at least another 2 seasons....he seems like he has something to prove. He seems to be on a personal mission to prove all his critics in the UK wrong. Another thing about Suarez is that he has taken the PL by storm and is most certainly a superstar. Whether he would get the same recognition in Spain in a league with Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi, Iniesta, Ozil, Isco etc I am not sure, Perhaps In Germany or France. In Germany Bayern could afford him, PSG can afford him in France but I am not sure he would wanna play in ligue 1...

I think he will stay for at least a couple more seasons and who knows perhaps in 2-3 years we find ourselves in the CL again...then he might stay a lot longer.

Watching Suarez lately he has adapted his game a lot, less diving and a lot less moaning, he is trying to be a better player for LFC and these don't seem like the actions of a player wanting to leave. Just my opinion. I hope he stays and becomes our next captain!

This is weird. I am not the only one who voted for the Hendominator?

Pete: Berg, I'm just not cut out to be a good person.
Berg: I know. That's why the Lord gave us good looks.

Agger is already the captain for his country and regularly wins Danish player of the year. He really isn't THAT injury prone. Not as much so as Gerrard was a couple of years ago. I love Suarez's passion, I love everything about him at the club. But much of being a captain isn't about being a talisman, it's about organising and talking, something Agger does constantly, the reason why John Terry is a good captain.

i like the optomism and maybe he will have seen the fall of certain other strikers who thought the grass was greener but we reaally do need to mount a challenge for the top 4 or the few top players we have got will abandon ship.
