Big deal. I've walked that far home after a night on the pi55!!

then you should remember what time the pick up was. you try travelling 30 miles on public transport in 1968

to be fair i am not from liverpool but in my experience i probably know more about the history of the city than most liverpool residents. i am sure you know faz but the average scouser below age 40 probably knows stuff all and they dont teach local history in schools to the x boc generation.
fair enough stan and your right but i can only speak for myself and i would take an interest in a city or town if i supported the club from there , just my view on it .

Exactly, the difference between Everton and Liverpool is the fan base. Even if Everton is having a better season than us, we will be better placed than then even in the short term because we have more resources thanks to the fan base. The global fan base attracts sponsors like Standard Chartered and allows the sale of more merchandise. I don't even understand the logic of comparing one fan to the other, what's the point?

For me, my interest is purely in Liverpool Football Club. Not the city, not everton, not tranmere, not the beatles, not cilla black, not stan boardman and certainly not anything political. I wouldn't read anything into that though.
There will be many like me who are only ineterested in the football. There will be many who are interested in the football and the history. There will also be many interested in just the history and couldn't give a fig about the football.

Do yoe feel someone who watches the game from home, for whatever reason, be it financial, family, work related or pure choice, is less of a fan than the match going fans?

No such thing as a real fan. Anyone who wants the best for the club/team is a fan regardless of where they were born, where they live and how many games they go to.

The only difference is that fans at the game can comment on more off the ball stuff and the fans at home can comment more on close up things etc.

Luis Garcia, He drinks sangria
He came from Barca, to bring us Joy
He's five foot seven, he's football heaven

ask you this then mate why don't you take an interest in the city ??? because LFC is a integral part of everything that is good about the city .
