I am gonna have to agree with Carheex here, I think it's ridiculous. I am from Serbia and obviously cannot attend the games but I dont think of myself as any less of a fan as I have shed tears over Liverpool, shared the passion and excitement. I regularly get together with fellow fans over here and we have a drink at the pub or one of our houses and watch the game together. I have spent my fair share on LFC merchandise and when I was in the UK I went to a match. But the fact that I usually watch from home with a couple of mates does not make me less of a fan and quite frankly I find comments that state I am less of fan kind of offensive.
I am not referring to your comments Stanley, as we are having a normal discussion but I presume you know which comments I am referring to.
I am sure I invest more time in following and supporting LFC than many match going fans do.

where you come from plays absolutely no part in football, hence why the Liverpool team has only a few local lads in the squad and mostly OOTers. A fan thinking that where he comes from is an important part of football is ridiculous to be honest and once again shows you to have a delusional sense of self.
It doesn't matter what people say to you, you're going to have your own little mentality and if that makes you feel better than someone else and better about yourself work away, luckily that isn't how the majority of people think.

These fans that think they are better because they happen to have been brought up locally, always have contradictory opinions. They think that the better fan is the local one who goes to games......do they only want scouse players and scouse staff sat in front of scouse fans? If that's the case, we can forget about dalglish, souness, hansen, torres, hyypia, paisley, benitez, shankly, keegan, rush, clemence, grobelaar, alonso, mascherano, hamann, hunt, hughes, suarez, reina, babbel, jones, houllier, owen, nicol, wright, kennedy, toshack.......they can be written out of our history. And what about 'local' money? the good ole U.S of Stateside has put more money into LFC than anyone else!
These people that put such a strong emphasis on 'local' probably want Liverpool twinned with Royston Vasey.

Well hang on now i dont get over to matches as often as i like but each year i have the home, away and alternate shirts, my room has wooden pictures of all the European Cup victories around it and ones of Shanks and Bob in the good times, the 6 of these pictures cost me £35 a pop i understand i dont pay as much as the match going fan but in the last 6 - 7 years i've spent almost £1000 on LFC memoribilia so to speak, haven't missed a game either for a long time so dont get why the "TV" fans get labeled not real, i've also been called a glory hunter before but that stopped as soon as i said its LFC i support lol this argument sucks.

No getting any sense out of people so we might as well all leave it there before it gets out of hand, if you can't gloat and have rivalry amongst like minded sports fans there is no point, like I say where u live does play a part look at the Ashes, St Helen's and Wigan Rugby, England v Scotland football, Geordies and Mackems, e.t.c it's all down to identity and mostly where u live, to say where u live or come from doesn't play a part in nearly all sports is very nieve...

i think some people have to think hard before they talk about issue , i will say that and i will only speak for myself and my family , that my grandad , my dad, my brother my self and my nephew have and all are season tickets holders and have been since at least the 1940's in my grandad's sake , my dad from the mid fifties to his death in 2009 my brother since 1972 and my self since 1978 , my nephew since 2000 . all homes games including cup ties and across europe , now everyone can choose to support LFC and thats up to them and we welcome them all they are all great reds , but do people who choose to support liverpool the same as my family of support at least 4 generations who didnt choose were born into the ways of LFC , i do believe there is a hierarchy of supporters , i will and do look up to the likes of the great bobby wilcox and the lenny woods of the LFC world to name just a few and there are many who go home and away every week , and i do have well more respect for those reds , now i am not saying people cant support who they like because they can , IE i am a big U2 and simple minds fan have there albums and records etc etc , but sadly i have never had the chance to see them live but i am a big fan , but i wouldnt knock anyone who who would travel to see them i would say they are a real fan , yes we are all reds but i think there are different levels of support or fanatics , now this is my opinion my opinion alone , i am not having a go at anyone or any fans group what so ever , in the end which ever level your at you support LFC.

Liverpool Football Club is going around making Twitter pages for different countries and regions , in different languages to increase their fan base , and there are some people who are saying that the fans who do not live in the city are not true fans , honestly that is very insulting and disgraceful. I think the love for LFC and the love for football is the most important thing , football unites people and does not segregate them by their nationality , race or religion.
