We could always ask for our debt to be wiped out in return for Torres?

as long as rafa is the manager, i dont tink torres will leave...if the club does accept 100M offer, tht will pave the way for rafa to go.......

A player would not stay (Torres or otherwise) if the club wanted to sell - trust would go out the window as we witnessed with Alonso

NB this is not intended to open up another Alonso debate but he has openly said his decision to leave was because we were prepared to sell him to get Barry

Disagree - player will not stay if owners want to get rid.

If they decide to sell - he will go and Rafa would see his arse and go too - after suing them for constructive dismissal - like Keegan did at Newcastle.

I would but knowing the owners would use every penny for clearing debts. Hell NO!.

£100 million could easily buy a couple of decent strikers and midfielders though.

I would accept it, the owners will accept it. But will Fernando accept it?

i think he would find it very hard to join another english club, just as he would find it hard to join another spanish club other than atletico.

Just look at Kaka to Shitey. Milan accepted the huge fee but Kaka didn't want to go. So why would it be different with Torres. And as others have said, if the manager and the staff want him thats the main thing to the players.

Milan to Shitey under new ownership with only one major signing (robinho) and not in the champions league is a totally different prospect.

Don't get me wrong I don't want Torres to go and think he has more loyalty to the club than 99% of the Liverpool players - just think that for £100m the owners will want to sell and Torres can sleep easy in the knowledge that the club has benefitted from the deal so would be tempted if we don't finish in the top 4.

However, I don't believe that they will bid £100m and I am also quietly confident that we will sneak 4th spot so this is all completely hypothetical.
