Moussa Sissoko wasn't a big secret - lots of people rated him as a potential big star in the prem. He went for a snip - and is exactly the sort of player we needed. It's not a matter of going for everyone - it's going for these types of players for decent money - at least once in a while. Hindsight, you've got to love it.

Yeah, but it's just that our hindsight is so much more expensive than what Swanseas and Newcastles are!

Lfc will sign sissoko from Newcastle for 25 m next season, lfc do not like signing quality players for 1.8m. His value waz 15m last season. Br needs shooting for not even trying to sign him. Then again if he did sign him, br spy in the squad wud be really upset.. Allen

I knew there'd be a thread for him. It's the same every time we don't buy someone then they score. It ain't FIFA or Championship Manager! If we bought every "bargain" or player the fans want we'd have a hundred man squad or more.
He's at Newcastle, we didn't buy him do get over it.

My problem isn't all the good players we didn't buy, but all the flops we did buy for stupid money.
That's why I'm always a bit edgy about seeing other teams easy getting away with cheap good acquisitions.
If we constantly over the years had managed to keep bringing in bargains (or for that sake expensive players) who turned out being successes for us, then I would have found it easier to live with the signings of the likes of Swansea and Newcastle.
But I guess it's never too late to give in. We might have turned the corner now...

Has it done Newcastle that much good though? They over achieved last year and now other teams know their players they're not as effective. Just look at Cisse this year and last year.
I do hope that we can get some of these bargains that work out. The last one I can remember was Sami. I just don't see the point crying about every player we don't buy.
