There was never a chance of this signing so why raise eyebrows now? FSG will not sanction the signing of any proven quality because they only want to pay buttons for young 'potentials' in the foolhardy belief that they'll all come good, wonder how long it'll take them to discover that football is a different game from baseball?

When news/rumours come out that we were happy to sign him on the cheap AND try to make him one of our LOWEST paid players then you just know that FSG had no real intention of making the deal happen - they were only interested in trying to make it look we did our best but lost out to another team. When the fans start complaining about lack of quality signings, they can now say, "oh, but we tried to sign Sneijder".
