I wasn't keen on us signing him, and I haven't seen our last couple off games in full, but my first impression is really positive. Seems like someone who's hungry for goals but also has a quality finish to go with it - something we've been lacking for a long while.

Borini will also have to fight for his place now so hopefully it'll raise his game too.

I'd like to see us start most games with Suarez and Sturride, with Borini coming on as a 3rd striker when needed. I was quite deflated that Sturridge didn't start yesterday. Everyone knows that they've leaked goals this season and we didn't start our new signing. Never mind - no point looking back.

I really didn't like his attitude when he came on with all that finger pointing.. Looked really cocky and he hadn't even kicked a ball yet!

However characters like that are required within a team. Bellamy being an example.

He does look good for us. Perhaps he was genuine when he said this could be his last chance to play for a top team..

Loved his 5 finger celebration as well... That was great!

Wasn't sure about him. Chelsea fans I know say he doesn't pass and does have an attitude problem.

But aslong as he does the good for us on a fairly regular basis I'd be happy.

When he signed I said 7 goals from him would be a good return between now and the end of the season. Well he's got 2 already.

We cannot afford him to blow hot then cold like Allen did this year and Enrique did last season.

The finger pointing....you mean the part where he is clearly saying a little prayer to himself? In the same way many players do. Similar to what Suarez does coming onto the pitch.

Yeah, what a b@stard.

I like Sturridge. He's positive. I'm convinced all the stuff about his attitude is bullpoo. And he's scored 2 in 2. Linked up almost immediately with Suarez.

His goal may have been a tap in, but by god, that was the first time in 18 months we've had a player who has actually got himself INTO THE POSITION for a tap in. Exactly what we need.

Sturridge goal v Mansfield was top class and timed to perfection pass from Shelvey, the goalyesterday against United was a STRIKERS goal, something we've not had in a long time, a real poacher since Fowler in my humble opinion.
Sturridge 2 in 2, hasn't played much this season so isn't match fit, i would've started him yesterday also and gave Sterling a rest especially against United, when they will always assume Suarez would be a lone striker. I'm really losing patience with Allen, i know he's a Liverpool player and we should support him and all that rubbish, but he shouldn't of played yesterday either in my view, Lucas should've been the only Defensive Midfield player yesterday.

All in all, i'm excited about Sturridge, but i won't be singing his praises too soon as we shouldn't judge him just yet after 2 appearances, i will judge at the end of the season.

I like it. He keeps ticking all the boxes. Shame we didn't pick him up sooner.

Before the transfer window, I said that we would need a couple of players to make this possible. Sturridge is a decent signing and he has started well but I don't think its enough, I still can't see it with this team. We need more fire power.
