First i would like to say well done lads, workman like performance and we created some good chances.

The question, do you agree with the referee's assistain, was Defoe offside?

My take on it is that i think he wasn't as he came back on side, if the greek hadn't touch the ball before Defoe then he would have been but as soon as he touched it i think he was on side.

What are your thoughts?

OFFSIDE

A player is offside if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved by: interfering with play; interfering with an opponent or gaining an advantage by being in that position.

Gaining an advantage by being in that position means playing a ball that rebounds to him off a post or the crossbar having been in an offside position or playing a ball that rebounds to him off an opponent having been in an offside position.

Bit of a grey area - 2nd phase only begins after a player has taken control of the ball - so debatable.

Got the decision though rightly or wrongly and we won - so all good.

Despite giving us a few decisions tonight I do think that Howard Webb has gone downhill - used to think he was quite a good ref

But it's a talking point!!! Don't you like discussing the game afterwards?

Interpretating the rules it is offside. That is why some people even think it is onside when a ball deflects of one of the other team.
