I wonder why Rodgers does not want him seemingly at any cost?

villa? a 31 year old coming back from a serious injury? who cant get into the barca team? which would completely go against our transfer policy... no way!

exceptions do need to be made but villa is far too much of a risk imo... besides we cant get rid until the summer due to 3 club rule he's either here or there not going to play for anyone else this season.

Maybe rodgson will want him back now that our 'system' has changed a bit. We're playing far more long balls and crosses than we did earlier in the season.

Has it though? I dont see any change in the system except for the players are now used to it and are more comfortable in this system...

i'd sell him for 5M he's unless to us with rodgers as manager. hopefully selling him to west ham at the end of the season is already all agreed, thats what the rumours were, 17M as long as they stay up.

I definitely see more long balls,more crosses and less risky passing it out from the back. Possibly only minor changes but enough to suggest that there may be hope for carroll yet. Hope not though - enrique aside, all of dalglish's signings aren't fit to be in the prem.

He's a great plan b......fa cup final for example almost single handedly got us back on terms.....everyone needs a plan b

personally i would take him back. from what i saw last season he had a lot more passion and made more effort than most of the team, and towards the end of the season his hard work on the pitch began to pay off with a run of good form. i remember a lot of people complaining because he didn't get played more at the euro's. he might only have 1 goal for west ham but he has been injured most of the time. i say keep him at least one more season and see were it goes.
