In the context of this thread, I'm not sure how he would help to be honest. A very good player he may well be, but it would be uncharacteristic of him if he started chipping in with goals. He's not what we need and any talk of signing in him is insane anyway.

Carroll had, aswell as bellamy maxi and adam. We just sold the players, this stat is more geared toward this season and with the shelvey thing it is three players. Not that damning IMO. Kuyt, Carroll, Maxi & Bellamy all had two each. Yeah, I would say it's even damning with them included. The point is that we don't currently have players in our squad who are scoring us goals - hence our massive shortage.  We have scored as many goals as Swansea this season, more than West brom and only two less than everton. Not that damning. Again, completely missing the point, pal. The point being that the goals aren't spread around the team enough. We're relying too heavily on Suarez - and to a lesser degree, Gerrard - for goals. No I get that, your not understanding me. Im saying that we are scoring enough goals and that it doesnt matter where they come from. Yes we are relying on suarez and, as you say to a lesser extent, stevie G but as long as it works....

No I get that, your not understanding me. Im saying that we are scoring enough goals and that it doesnt matter where they come from. Yes we are relying on suarez and, as you say to a lesser extent, stevie G but as long as it works.... So what happens to us in the goalscoring stakes when Suarez stops scoring, gets injured or gets suspended? Looking at those stats who do we turn to for goals? Other players need to start chipping in more. Like Suarez for us, RVP scores a lot of goals for Man Ure. Other players for them chip in too - that's why they're at the top of the league and we're in mid-table.

In the calendar year of 2012, other than Suarez or Gerrard, no current LFC midfielder or forward has scored more than 1 goal in the EPL...
Something to fix in 2013 certainly... So bearing that in mind would you approve of signing Wesley Sneijder? Not if he was on insane wages, which I've heard he is already on. Don't see why he'd come to us when there'd be better placed clubs interested in him either. Non-starter for me, just a silly rumour that's already been rubbished by the player's representatives.

I think the only way we would get sneijder is if we were the only ones to offer him the 200k a week wages. This means we would have to offer our other top players (currently only Suarez) 200k, and our higher earners but not top (johnson for example) 150+. Very dangerous precedent to set. Also remember that he was actually dropped before his contract dispute several times due to poor performances. He has certainly peaked, not worth that much a week and what it could do to our wage structure. Though a Creative player in AM like he was a couple of seasons ago IS something we need. One that scores more goals than he does would be nice though, bit more mobile and dynamic, one with pace that gets into the box.
