Van Persie is 29 and Arsenal sold him for 24 m , Villa is 31 for 16m and a proven goal scorer .

Rodgers bought Allen for like 15m why not Villa for 16m ?

Risky at that price. The safety net with RVP is that he is proven in the premierleague. Villa has never played here and many so-called top strikers around the world struggle away from their home country. So no, I don't think it's a risk worth taking.

Please, no David Villa, we had our fingers burnt with another foreigner coming to the Premier League past his best and here for the payday with Fernando Morientes...

Thats an interesting point on RVP, if anything the fact that he has done so well in the premiership since joining mufc, at 24m and at 28 years of age, this should have an effect (or is a consequence) of downward pressure on the transfer fees given.
2011 was madness not just liverpool but top money was spent on over rated players.

Anyway on the Villa issue no way not for more than 12m , and we got joe allen for more than 12m. If all the teamms in the EPL stood together agains the agents might see less money being wasted on rubbish (not that Villa's rubbish but others are over rated and way over priced)
