Good point. Will our 1st 11 have a forward line of:

Borini---Sturridge---Suarez

or will Sterling keep his place? Going to be interesting to see what happens

i think BR will play...

sturridge...borini...suarez...

borini can only play as a central striker, he does not have the ability of the other 2 strikers, who can play in 2 or 3 positions in the team and still perform well.

I would play Sturridge Suarez Sterling, the 3 S's of doom but anyway as I said in the other thread not happy about the signing at that price. Too much money for a decent player. We need top players not decent players.

Don't get all the negativity, think he's a good player plenty of pace and knows how to score. Think he'll improve the first team and not just the squad. Can see borini losing out and prob justifiably so having showed very little when he has played.
My only concern would be his reputation about his attitude. But think if he can put head down and show some commitment he'll be a success. He was shafted a bit at Chelsea, offered a lot more than Torres and even drogba at certain stages but was still left out. 12 mill is not that much relatively speaking for a striker and gives us an option don't have at the moment. Be nice to have another attacking option coming in along with him though.

I agree, borini is back up utility forward, probably meant to be back up when he bought him
With suso up front it could have been 4 S's

Doubt it,
Sturridge has written a thesis on how he 'does not like playing unless he is a striker'

One very important factor Sturridge will bring to our team is pace in the attacking 3rd...so far Sterling has been our only real pacey threat...and pace in attack can make a huge difference in transitional play.

we can really do with the pace. our team is alot better then it has been for a long time in that respect.

if we go back 5 years ago the only fast( or fastish) players we had was

John Arne Riise
Jermaine Pennant
Ryan Babel
Fernando Torres

( only two of those players were regulars)

and as from january we should have

sterling
sturridge
jose
johnson
ossama
kelly
ince (all the signs are he will sign)

out of them we should see atleast 4 players play regularly.

the team has alot more pace, i would like to see more pace dow
