What about christmas 2008 when we were top of the prem? Surely you must have thought we were in with a chance then? I was hopefull but deep down in knew united were the better team I completely disagree for that season alone. I know it's easy for me to say, and you or anyone else may feel free to disagree but I thought we were the better team that season. we had some highs that season like beating Newcastle away 5-1 also beating and putting 4 past Madrid and United however the lows were pretty bad too especialy after the Rafa rant, getting knocked out of the cup by a poor Everton side and loads of last minute wins against some poor opposition so over all good and bad and as we all know to win the league you cant be good and bad you need to be consistant which United usualy always are and were that season... We only lost 2 league games for that whole season. That's an amazing achievement. I have to laugh at you mentioning last minute wins as a negative part of our season - if United do that, you'd call it 'the mark of champions'. United got incredibly lucky in countless games that season due to dodgy refereeing decisions and opposition own goals etc. Not trying to make it sound like a hard luck story - we didn't win the league and that's the bottom line, but I believe we deserved it more, because I think we were the better team over the course of the season.

i agree careex a top class commanding centre half and a box to box hard tackling midfielder who gets goals would transform this team. We are not far away from champions league qualification 3 top players would do it. Pity kenny did not sin that guy from west ham who would have done a good job in midfield fpor us. 2 strikers needed ie ba, bent on loan, midfield......... ie sissoko, diego or sniejder on loan, winger/rite/left mid...walcott, turan or mertens,

United scored late winners when they dominated the game so fully deserved it in the end whereas we were second best for most of ours and snatched it undeserverdly so there is a difference. A few games spring to mind Middlesborough at home with a Carragher defelcted shot, Man City away when we were getting hammered 2-0 they got a man sent off and we won it with a Kuyt goal and also at home to Wigan were we were getting beat until Valencia was sent off we then snatched it, Fulham with a late Maxi goal was another were we were very lucky. I thought we were never good enough to win the League that season myself but its all about opinions...

It was a late Yossi goal against Fulham. So close that season, but not good enough and that was quite a good team we had.

False. Just incorrect. The 'mark of champions' that gets levelled at them is when they win 1 nil when they don't deserve to. Not when they 'dominate'. Even Gary Neville said we played champions football for more of the season. United won it with goals against teams like villa when they didn't deserve to win actually. Not got a leg to stand on here. That was an incredible season for us. Very good team. Playing really nice football. Scoring tonnes of goals. Was fantastic.
