i agree profits are no good if john henry starves the club but in a way thats not the point you said they were bigger. As for london its not really a football city historically the north west has always matched it. liverpool are well placed to become a great club with the development of the liverpool economy but that depends on fsg and here i agree with you they wont invest and in that regard yes we could be finished. but the opportunity is there i think the opportunity has gone Stanley, we have gone too long without any real sustained succes, king ken then put an end to our only chance of getting back amongst it, blowing all that money...

dont think so, the modern fan is attracted by success, just take a look at the fan base Chelsea have aquired since Roman took over and they started winning leagues and European Cups, City are growing now. Unfortunately for us we have not won the league in nearly a quarter of a century and won just one European Cup in nearly 30 years, you cant feed a fan base on such paltry scraps and expect it to grow or stay loyal... You say Chelsea started winning European Cups - plural. They've just won one - last year. It's the only one in their history too. Yet, you made sure to mention that we've only won one in the last 30 years - the same amount as Chelsea (have EVER won). Can you not make your points on a fair and level playing field? This is where the line between 'realism' and pessimism is over-stepped so often with you, and the reason why a lot of people pay little attention to what you have to say.

henry is going to starve this club until it is no longer profitable, he'll exhaust it as a resource and then float the corpse down the river.

i also disagree with the premise that the modern fan follows success. despite liverpool not being in the title race for 20 plus years the fan base has held well. chelsea on the other hand with all their money and success have not grown expontntially. when the clubs met last year which fans turned out in numbers ? i don't even think chelsea sold out and this in their own city. very long term of course it will eventually change

it's quite remarkable the amount of negatives you see at LFC....we have no positives??? We should just all give up and let the club fall into insignificance!

true but they still cannot touch our fanbase can they? sorry Stanley your wrong on that one Chelsea are more than catching us up, can remember us playing in Singapore a season or two ago, we played a select team in the national stadium a week before Chelsea played the same opponents in the same venue, Chelsea sold out while we never, this would never of happend 10 years ago. I think you are judging fans in the wrong way, fans from abroad are more fickle than the fans here, success means everything to them when it comes to picking a team to support, how many of these fans would choose a Fulham or a West Brom given the choice, most can't even remember when we were a top club and won things it was that long ago, united, Chelsea and now City with there galaxy of stars are what young up and coming fans want to support not an old, relic, dinosaur of a club like ours, we needed different owners to change all that which we never got...
