We're talking about the league and they are pretty equal there considering that Damiao has started a lot more in an arguably weaker league. If Sturridge gets a run, the goals will come.

But you gotta look at how much he has started. Most of those appearances are from the bench, look how well he does when he starts.

You have just claimed his stats are as good which they are clearly not. Torres at Chelsea hasnt been able to hit a barn door for last 12-18 months yet Sturridge still cant get in the team with 3 different managers.

After the mistakes that Kenny made you would think the club would learn about spending large sums of money on unproven english players. We are making the same mistakes over and over again. We are spending big money on poor quality and fans are accepting it.

So basically our scouts have had four months to find the right players and they have come back and said. "Well we've found this boy who used to play for you and a bloke who sits on the bench at chelsea" Its laughable.

I remember Rodgson announcing in september that "we have a network of scouts who will see what players we can sign on a free transfer". They didn't do very well then either.

I don't understand the negativity towards Sturridge, alrite he's not top draw but let's get real here we are not a top draw club, people think we are somehow better than what we are and that's why they talk about players like Llorente or Hunterlaar, can you honestly see these players swapping where they are for a bog standard mid table premier league club with no hope of Champions League Footie, coz I can't. I think people really do need to take a reality check and stop feeding off the scraps of our history and famous name, this is where fans unrealistic expectation levels come from, we are no longer that club unfortunately...
