What's happening with them this year? I saw quite a few of their games last year and they played entertaining football, worthy of the league position that they finished in. I've watched them twice this year and they look nothing like the team they were last year. Are they missing any key players? If things get much worse for them, Pardew's 8yr contract is going to loo like a very costly mistake! On the bright side, maybe we could poach a player or 2 along with Alan Carr's dad?

They were a bit of an unknown quantity last year and they've now been found out. There is always one team that does it. It seems to be promoted teams for the most part but last year was Newcastle. I think Csbaye is out at the moment but even when he wasn't they weren't doing that well.

Agreed there!

Cabaye is out injured, as is both the defenders Steven and Ryan Taylor.

Apart from those, Cissé hasn't really picked up his form from last year yet.

Cisse and Ba don't play well together, and Cabaye and Ben Arfa have been hurt.

I wouldn't say they're s**t. it's just not working for them at the moment. they have some good individual players and performed well as a team last year.

Agree completely.

They punched above their weight last season and had a bit of luck - they played nice football but they looked frail and beatable at the same time. They over achieved in an under achieving league last season - says alot that their struggling this year given the way the "bigger boys" are still dropping points..

Pardew is a mouthy gobshite.

Pete: Berg, I'm just not cut out to be a good person.
Berg: I know. That's why the Lord gave us good looks.
