The one thing I will applaud BR for is the fact he makes quite diverse changes with his subs - he doesn't just swap a stiker for a striker / a defensive mid for another (what the hell is Hendo anyway???) He changes the formation up, it's refreshing to see a new approach rather than just the "like for like" ploughing away down the same channels.. gets a bit frustrating.


Master tactician though??? Not yet.

I think Hendo has become an effective utility player. He can play attacking mid, holding mid, out wide (though he's better centrally) or right back.

His best performances this year have all come from more attacking roles though. One of our problems is we don't get enough men in the box, but Henderson does this

Yeah he's coming along just nicely - he'll get better and grow in confidence if the performances carry on as they are too... just don't quite know what his best position is yet.

Utility it is!

I agree he's better at attacking. That's his natural position. He plays where he's told though, and he does a job. Fowler said at the end of the match that he does better at attacking because its more cerebral. When he's going forward and attacking, he just reacts and his skills do the work. When he slows down and has to think, he often chokes. I've said from the beginning, has the tools. He's young, but he's maturing.

exactly. It is a complete change of tactics and he doesn't necessarily wait until 60 mins as shown when he took Suso off against Wigan

i have no arguments with the notion that he is tactically aware ( shouldnt all the top managers be?). my main argument was about the master part.
i have liked the fact that he makes the changes early and doesnt wait until the 89min like kenny
