Switched things up today very controversially but it paid off. After a decent performance against young boys in the europa league he sent Joe Cole on and put Downing at left back. Then he took Lucas off and threw Henderson in to give us more of an attacking threat. He also started with Shelvey in the false 9 instead of opting to put one of our academy forwards in. Whats more is that he persisted with Shelvey in the role despite many fans,including me,begging him to change it up. Well it all paid off as Downing got up from left back to join in with many of our attacks and still managed to cover his defensive duties.Also although he didnt offer much in other play Joe Cole linked up well in the attacking areas and scored a crucial goal. This isnt the first time he has done things like this either as he has made substitutions against Chelsea and Everton in an attempt to help us get results and he as also played Jose Enrique in the left wing position where the natural full back has excelled. My question to you all is do you think that BR is the tactician we need to secure the top four spot we are only four points off??

nice little interview after the game..everything is nice after a win..if we had lost I would be abusing the crap out of him

the right signings(not sturridge) in Jan and we can grab 4th maybe even 3rd.

No doubt if he looses the next match there will be people calling for his head.
I think with the thin squad he has available to him and the underperformance of some of those players hes doing a pretty good job. (I didnt rate him as LFC boss before the season).
Lets hope FSG have the balls and money to back him in the window.

Tony Pulis's Stoke are a point ahead of us - that must make him even more of a master tactician, unless you (Paddy) think Rodgson is the only manager that makes changes during the game!

Since the Everton game in particular the changes he has made midgame have appeared unorthodox and not just straight swaps but have always benefited us do you not think?

I wasn't so sure about him when his name was first touted, but the more I see of this man, the more he impresses me. He excites me in a way other managers haven't. I liked Rafa, and Kenny's a legend, but there's something about BR that really impresses me. We could be on the cusp of something.

Lets not forget about West Brom and Swansea too.
