The position in the group right now:
Anzji: 10 points
Liverpool: 7 points
Young Boys: 7 points
Udinese: 4 points
The first thing we can say is that Udinese are already out. After points earned in the cup, intergroup results between the 3 teams are counted, and hence Udinese can not pass both The Reds AND Young Boys.
The 2 knock out places are thus determined among the top three teams, where the Russians of course are in pole position.
For Liverpool, a win, however, automatically guarantees a playoff spot, then we have better statistics against Young Boys. But the goal in general is that we must bring along an equally good result in Udine - as Young Boys may bring from their home game with Anzji.
Anzji has still things to play for, since a total implosion can see them knocked out of the tournament.
Would Young Boys namely win by at least three goals, while Liverpool defeat Udinese, then the Russians are out.
It is also only at a Young Boys win (and a Liverpool win) as The Reds can move forward as group winners. Either through a goal difference affair against Anzji, or as the scenario above - when it gets to the "winner" of the 2 games between LFC and Young Boys.
