I wouldn't be surprised if Carra hangs up his boots at the end of this season, and Stevie hasn't got a whole lot of time left.

With both of them gone, who would you like to see take the mantle of club captain?

Reina, Skrtel, Agger and Lucas have all worn the armband at some point or another in the past, and they're the most likely candidates, imo.

Who do you think should get the armband after Carra and Stevie retire (assuming the aforementioned players are all still at the club)?

I'd be in complete agreement with that. I'd go in this order: Lucas, Agger, Skrtel, Reina. I think Reina would make a good leader but I'm just not a fan of GKs being captain. I think a captain should play in CM or CB.

I d go for agger ( the only risk being not on the teamsheet out injured every now and again)
While i think lucas is a great role model and example for the team i don't see any evidence that he a great motivator of others.
His job is too discreet to 'lead by example ' so unlike gerard who could in the past drag the whole team along with him, lucas might not do this.
Agger is just a bit more vociferous and is maybe a more traditional 'English' style captain

very good point. There's not much in it for me and I can see exactly where you're coming from as regards Agger being more vociferous (great word, did you get the thesaurus out again?)

Agger With Lucas as the VC. Agger is a more vocal leader. That said, Lucas would be an excellent "lead-by-example" sort of captain. Either would be good. I'd be worried about Agger's injury record, but the Dane's had a pretty clean season as far as injuries go though (touch wood).

Yeah, very good point. If Agger had the fitness record of Sami Hyypia, I'd probably have opted for him, but as you say, he gets injured a lot, so is liable to miss a lot of games. Lucas has had two injuries lately, but before that he had a clean injury record.

I like my captains to be vociferous too. I don't think Stevie is the most vociferous captain, tbh. I do think that Lucas can lead by example though.

Lucas defo for me, Agger comes a close second. I think Agger will get it though and Lucas be VC then when Agger is older he will hand over duties to Lucas FT.

Both seem like good leaders, I would prefer Lucas though.
