Please link me FSG's statement, as currently you seem to be reworking events to suit yourself. BR pulled the plug on the Siggy deal as he would only match the agreed deal that swansea had agreed. The Dempsey deal was left in the hands of IA.
He left melwood fully expecting a deal would have been agreed, hence his anger of being left with a thin squad.
He likely only agreed to Carroll's loan on the basis of bringing in another.
Why the deal broke down is as far as I'm concerned is unknown and in-house.

The hating on FSG is unwarranted. So far I can't complain as their only real mistake is backing a fan appointed manager. So if there is someone to blame it is you, and you and, you, and them, and that lot over there.
January might not be as helpful as we all hope, so I believe next summer is the true reflection on how the owners run the club.


Another consideration is that Joe Allen's position would likely be the same as when Dempsey would fit. Maybe the truth is that liverpool didn't want to pay money for someone to warm the bench.

i haven't got a link but i am sure other posters here can coborate the jist of it..it was along the lines of not buying players who are old, expensive and not going to improve upon mid-table. so infact they were telling BR his liking of dempsey was wrong ..i.e americans know more about football than he does

I remember it Emp as you said. I think FSG were naive in the extreme rolling over to engratiate themselves with the fans on a manager any google seach would show was a huge risk. Then letting him and commoli rip. because of that they are now ultra cautious and want to micro manage but essentially its their poor judgement at fault.

they're flip flopping all over the place. they should have been chased out of town for doing that being liverpool. they haven't really spent a penny, main interest seems to be to cut the wage bill, nothing on the stadium, no leadership in suarez case, no reliable staff. sacking a manager for not getting 4th then saying they don't expect 4th for the the new fella and cementing that ambition by not backing him in the transfer market. what have they actually done thats good?

Surprise surprise no link. I think you are referring to Warner's statement about strategy, where nothing about Dempsey was mentioned. Yet somehow you create fact out of your own assumptions.

It is your own opinion but it is a little pessimistic.

agree slightly unfair KP but they have showed some serious lack of judgement. That said they still have time to turn it round starting this transfer window.
