Just when you thought it was safe... I thought we haven't had a Rafa thread for a while. There's none on the front page, so I should be safe to add this I guess.
Inreresting article today:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footbal...onger-team.htmlHis general comments about various topics give the impression that he really learnt a lot during his 6 years with us, and perhaps also from the media work he's done in the last 2 years. His English is much better and he seems very comfortable and confident in talking to the meidia. Quite candid sometimes - moreso than before. It wouldnt've surprised me if he referred to himself as the 'FSW' when he mentioned the Italian suits.
Added to his undoubted abilities as a coach, with a little luck and support at Chelsea he could do really well.
I woonder if we missed a trick with both Houllier and Rafa. Both were new to the country and the league when we took them on so a period of learning should have been expected. Did we get rid of them too soon? Even Fergie took 5-6 years to achieve success.
We'll never know I guess, though we might get a good idea if Rafa does well at Chelsea.
Hopefully it won't matter now if BR pulls it off at Anfield. I'm liking what he said yesterday as quoted in today's papers.
