I think Suarez is the best player in the Prem just at the moment and all the criticism of him not scoring has now evaporated.

But he has a nasty streak as we saw recently against Everton and Wigan and he is constantly moaning to refs and getting in spats with other players. This is disappointing but I wonder whether this is part and parcel of his game?

One thing you can never say about Suarez is that he is never ever not in the game and one of the most consistent players I have ever witnessed.

For me he is very much like Peter Beardsley in role but for me is far more consistent (Beardsley often blew hot and cold) overall I would say Suarez is the better motivated and has more talent. Beardsley I would day was marginally the more intelegent in terms of guile between the two.

But if Suarez cut out the nasty stuff would he be the player he is today? I think not I think conflict if what drives him on.

i think he need that bit of anger to give him the edge. other lfc players say his a different player out of the pitch. maybe he puts the attitude on to put his opponents off? ( not convinced my self)

Was the Wigan thing really "nasty"? I certainly don't think it was a stamp and you see the same thing multiple times every weekend with no comment whatsoever so it winds me up that it even warrants a mention by MOTD.
Suarez should stay as he is, he must be horrible to play against and if there is a perception from defenders that he may be liable to leave the boot in GOOD, because they kick s*** out of him.

if he played for another team these same fans praising him would be calling him a racist, a rat, a cheat, a sneak and generaly a nasty piece of work, talk about two faced and double standards, his slyness is up there with Diouf's and we all know what Liverpool fans think of him.

it was not a stamp like what huth did to him..it was reckless tho, I don't think he even saw the player just being his usual busy self trying to catch a loose ball. could have got a red but it would have been very very harsh.

I would agree with most that he has a tendency to dive, although of late that has largely been in check but I don't see him as someone who would set to hurt another player with intent.

Calling it a stamp is ridiculous, he stuck a foot out to try and nab a loose ball. Those kind of tackles hurt a fair bit these days and boots seem to be made out of a material thinner than angel's tears. But there was nothing malicious of it.

As someone said, Scholes does this week in, week out and commentator's just joke and say he can't tackle.

Suarez makes a LOT of chances (4 of his goals over the 2 games against Norwich) from harassing and pressuring players. He's got so much energy and chases every loose ball.

Every so often he will end up catching the player rather than the ball even if he tries not to.

Adebayor's tackle was a red card. The Fulham centre back's tackle was a red card. This...was a yellow, at a push for catching a player and for the ref to tell him to calm down a bit.

Commentators coming out with remarks like "and this is the nasty part of Suarez's game" is just comedy gold. What about Van Persie who i've seen elbow 3 different players in the face, off the ball, already this season.

It just whiffs of desperation for me.

Same for the comments on the Distin tackle (he slipped right before ffs!)

"we're annoyed that Suarez scored 1 or 2 goals against us despite our pre match training being about how we can stop him from operating, so let's look back at this tackle and argue that he shouldn't have been on the pitch at the time".
