“We’re looking to grow over the next six months, we’ll get some reinforcements in January and that will support the group who have been magnificent for me so far. Hopefully in the summer we can build again.”

I have a feeling the issue is the dead wood, and a major part of it is the Carroll situation. Sounds like if Downing and Cole leave then we will then likely sign some replacements.

Hope something happens anyway. We need another striker even with Borini back we've only 2 we need at least 3

Sell Cole at a loss to Lille. Just get him off the bill. Downing I'm not so sure. Carroll needs to be off the books though.

Selling Coke isn't the issue for Lille it's his wages. They just couldn't afford him.

Iv heard *rumours* of Downing back to villa for around 9 million i'd very much like that to happen. Cole has to go for 2 million or even for free just get him out of there and free up the wages for someone from the money we get if we offload Spearing, Carrol, Pacheco, Downing, Wilson, Jones etc. This might not happen in January though not sure if we can sell Carrol or Spearing during their loans and i heard the new Bolton manager doesn't want him either. FSG need to give us around 15 million at least in Jan aswel as it is because the squad is so thin.

Look, we can't go ahead and sell off another 6-7 players to help fund 1-2 new players, simply because our squad is already thread thin.

Sadly we need to keep all we've got and add at least 2-3 new players.

When that's secured we can start discussing to offload players left, right and center.

As for Cole (Wiki: I hope Selling Coke isn't Lille's business! :D), he's on a £ 90 K a week salary, with roughly 1,5 years left on his contract. This means we will pay him salaries worth £ 90 K x 80 weeks = £ 7,2 M before his contract expires. Unless a buyer rates him at £ 7,2 M we can't expect to get him offloaded even for free. Simple as!

Sadly I think we're stuck with him until July 2014 when his contract expires. Then good bye Mr Cole!

What we could do though is loan him out and hope someone would like to pay at least some part of his ridiculously high salary!

I know its not gonna happen soon this goes in to next summer to. Surely if we offload Cole and Downing in Jan we can bring in 2 better replacements, maybe 3 if FSG give us money?

He is either managing our expectations... Or been told that he has very limited funds until this season is over.

Like the summer all over again. He was told £10 million but that could be including wages...

FSG need to pull something out the bag, Otherwise upsetting the fans in 2 consecutive windows is not a wise move.

I say anything less than £20 million before sales and NOT including wages would be a fair investment.

Anything less and they should just admit they are not fit owners and should sell up!

FSG no pressure but you need to regain our trust after the fiasco which was the summer where we sold / got rid of like 12 players and only brought in 4!!!

Announcing to the world that we're in the market for a striker isn't the best way to get a good deal. We've just added about £5m to any fee by announcing our desperate priority and showing our hand to everyone.
