Don't agree with most of the comments here.
He's off his best but he's still a damn good striker.
At chavs, his movement and technical abilities are still better than the other strikers there like Daniel Sturridge.
Form is temporary, class is permanent. I believe we'll be able to get the best out of him again. Apart from that being a ridiculous, meaning less comment, how do you know which is which? Is permanent good form better than permanant low class?

I'm not exaggerating when I say 15 mill is the absolute most anyone should pay for him. Class may be permament, but you're only as good as you are currently playing. He's okay for chelsea, but not great, in fact not even good, just okay. You do not pay 20 million for an okay striker (you pay 35 million if you are dalglish). 10-15 mill and I'd take him, but why would he come to sit on our bench when most of you and most other Liverpool fans showed a complete and utter lack of class when he left? He could go back to athletico as part of the falcao deal most probably, if chelsea wanted to sell him. yes I think the Falcao deal would be a perfect answer for both Chelsea and Athletico, Chelsea would be getting the hottest striker around and Athletico will be getting there prodical son's return to sweeten the loss of losing Falcao. I agree with the point the Liverpool fans were disgraceful in there treatment of Torres when he left, how anyone can blame the feller for the reasons he gave is beyond me, there again should we be suprised with the way they treat Michael Owen, we always give returning players a bad time.

the best argument against form is temporary, class is permanent is joe cole. i feel sorry for the fella. he seems like a decent bloke and all. but...
he had some great seasons at chelsea winning titles and playing really well. when his form dipped in his last season there, he came to us and he just hasn't been the player he was. he was class but his time is up.
torres hasn't even been a good striker, never mind great, for almost 3 years now. i feel his ship has sailed. he's just not good enough anymore. i'd be very against him coming back. not on the grounds off the "he sold out" argument (i don't buy into that stuff, every player has a price), he is just past it

Owen left for buttons after promising to sign his contract in the summer. David Moores was very dispointed in him over this and a major reason why we never took him back. Torres sulked around for the last year and refused to turn up for club events at schools and hospitals etc. Other players really questioned his attitude and Dalglish decided to get rid for the moral of the group. Torres is 28 (29 in march)struggling for form and on very high wages, does not fit the new Liverpool model in anyway. Get me a hungr, talented 22yr old anyday

Should be bring Torres back? Consider why Chelsea would want to sell him first. Even if he comes back cheap, there is still a matter of his wages, considering he might end up being the next Joe Cole. Lastly, for pure footballing reasons, no.

Every time a player returns to Anfield, the crowd never boos them, there are special circumstances of course (Torres, Owen) for obvious reasons, but I have never heard the crowd boo Crouch, Pennant, Riise, Murphy, Wernock, Adam etc.
On the other hand you watch other clubs and they boo 99% of the time even if their players have left on a good note.

I dont know if you went the Stoke game but Charlie Adam was booed, so was Diouf when he returned with Bolton, Meireles was booed when playing against us for Chelsea thats just three straight away not including Torres and Owen so Liverpool fans do give ex players a hard time when they return, Graeme Souness gets a hard time by some, so did Stan Collymore...

We had his best years. His form has been poor for longer than it was good so what is the point? Time to move on. What is it with LFC fans and always looking to the past? Rafa, Torres, Xabi? come on, all ancient history. We need to move on if we are ever going to get back to the top of the pile. Rafa, Torres, Xabi.....rodders,borini,allen....you are right we definately need to move on
