A question for you all. Who would replace Rodgers if he was to be sacked now? Who would do better with this squad and limited budget?
I really am loosing faith with our supporters if this forum is anything to go by. It's getting more and more stupid every day! Klopp
That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

I hope he doesn't tell the Americans that his philosophy can only work with Messi in it... If they'll go out and buy him, then that's exactly what I hope he's telling them Well, if I am the owner and my manager tells me that we can improve (get to top 4) only if we buy Messi, I'll look for another manager who can get me top 4 without Messi, simple as. to be fair to BR, I don't think he's been asked to just improve the result and leagues position in the short term. He seems to have been given licence to dismantle the old team (even the new recriuits that cost a total £150m)... and start again almost from scratch (though not quite). In such a scenario, it's not necessary appropriate to expect immediate improvemnt in terms of a higher league finish than the previous season. Sometimes you need to go backwards first in order ro go forwrds. I disagree with that. Not going backwards, is the way forward.

wilkj, is there anyone that you think we'd be able to get that would improve us, if BR was to be given the sack? Not sure to be honest. Klopp keeps getting mentioned and has done well with Dortmund. The thing that annoys me is that people think it will be easy to gett someone like Klopp or Mourinho or even Guardiola. These same people will say that we're no longer a top club so can't attract top players and managers etc. What is happening now is frustrating and I'm not happy about where we are. But I don't think getting rid of Rodgers before he's had a good go at it and been backed fully by the owners is the right way to go. Maybe it's just me but I can see the wood in amongst all those trees.

Know what you mean lumba.
Wasn't Klopp appointed in a similar fashion to Rodgers? A relatively unknown manager with no "credentials" or experience?

I disagree with that. Not going backwards, is the way forward. Not always. You could have taken a wrong path that's leading you to a dead end. in which case you need to go back to the crossroads and chose another path, hopefully the correct path that will take you much further and ideally all the way to your desired destination. In this case, had KD been given another season he may well have improved the league position he achieved last season by 1 or 2 places. However, the club took the view that Kenny's approach would only take us so far and not anywhere near where the club wants to be, especially with an £150 million investment. Hence the owners chose to go with BRs master plan for potentially reaching much higher levels of success and a better style of football. BR feels he can't do that with KDs squad hence he dismantles it and promotes quite a few youngsters too. With that approach, you can't necessarily expect an immediate improvement in the short term, but there's still the possibility of a greater return in the medium term.

From Wikipedia : In his first season in charge, Klopp guided Borussia Dortmund to win the DFB-Supercup, defeating German champions Bayern Munich.[3] Klopp took the club to a sixth place finish in his first season in charge, and a fifth place finish in the season after that, before leading the club to successive Bundesliga titles in the 2010–11 and 2011–12 seasons.
