I think people are being lenient because the owners and the managers directly before Rodgers were all very average and now Rodgers is having to deal with their mess.
Sure KD got us to 8th, but he should have done much better than that with the money he had to spend. Rodgers needed to get rid of his dross and bring in his players at bargain basement prices compared to KD. And now he's having to deal with injuries in his already paper thin squad.

Do people really see Rodgers as being that much better than dalglish or hodgson? I don't see how.
As a fan what are your expectations for the season?

Put your handbag away. Have a look around other clubs' forums and speak to other fans - BR has made us a laughing stock and the fans 'hard luck stories' are a constant source of amusement. Handbag. Your self-righteous attitude gets pretty boring and tireseome, try ease up on the attitude a little every now and again. Or better yet make if your aim to try smile once a day. Or get yourself laid. I dunno, whichever works best for you I suppose. I hate to see a fellow Red constantly so unhappy

I think a top 6 finish, and more investment over the summer. If I was the owners I would want improvement at the end of the season, and if I could see that, then I would trust the manager with more finances.

I agree with all of that. But I have huge doubts about whether BR has the abilities to get this squad to 6th.
Come the end of the season, what would you consider to be 'sackable'?

It would indeed be foolish to sack a manager every year, especially if he was doing well. But no one is suggesting that we sack people for the sake of it - your comments are very odd at times. You may or may not have seen my remark a few posts prior to this one saying that we should find a good manager and stick with him.
Surely keeping someone who is doing badly is far worse than sacking someone who is doing badly!? BR can't be given special dispensation just because the 2 managers before him didn't last very long. He needs to be judged purely on how well he does in the league against expectation.
Forget the last few years for a moment.....would you be so defensive of BRs bottom half placing if he had taken over after Benitez or Houllier? I doubt it very much - you'd be saying that he's dragged us down to the level of Stoke, Wigan and Norwich whereas his predecessors were winning cups, finishing in the top4, being crowned as champions of europe etc... People are being lenient towards brendan because of how long RH & KD lasted - they are not forming their opinions on how 'well' he is doing. See this is where 'opinion' comes into the fray. You seem to be of the opinion that BR is "out of his depth" and "not up to the job". I (and many others) disagree with this opinion, which is why we'd choose to stick behind him. If you've lost faith in him, then that's your business, and your opinion, and would explain why you may want him out. You should realise that other people aren't quite so fickle though, and understand that their faith in his ability as a manager would be reason enough for them not to want to see him sacked for aiming for 7th place.

I would sack him if we ended up outside the top 8. But you would also need to look at circumstances such as if we ended up 9th because most of our key senior players (suarez) were injured and he needed to play the young guys because the owners didn't invest.
I think he has it in him , and is finding his feet.

Rodgers needed to get rid of his dross and bring in his players at bargain basement prices compared to KD. And after having got rid of that dross, spent 30 million on his own players, he is performing worse than KK. I've said all along it is too early to judge, but he really needs to Buck (see what I did there !!) his ideas up sharpish.

KD had all summer to prepare and he got worse, Rodgers wasn't as fortunate. Plus I think that with the 30 mil that Rodgers spent, he generally brought in better players than KD did with the money he had bar Suarez.
