have we ever thought that BR is right? that to get above last year is a reasonable target. We have in the side every game 3/4players who have less than 15 team appearances, not just first team but full professional appearances.
the reason for that lies not solely with BR but a club philosophy of culling all the older players - officially to develop youth but cost cutting also prominent in the decision making.
Dunk is right in that BR does preach a little but so did Shanks and Fergie makes no sense at all when his team falters blaming kit colour, unfit refs etc which he does to deflect attention away from the players. BR is doing the same, managing expectation as alot of his players are very young and inexperienced, they do not need and certainly cannot handle pressure at this stage in their careers

Was it Hodgson who said 'judge me after 10 games'? We did. Well, we're at 11 games now and Hodgson has a superior record to rodgers despite less resources being spent on the team. When you consider that Hodgson was treated so disgracefully and then sacked, why are people being so accepting of BRs massively underwhelming results?

BR should thrive as the expectation on the club has never been so low....

Rafa was sacked when we finished 7th.....
Hodgson was sacked when we were in the bottom half at xmas....
Dalglish was sacked when we finished 8th....
...but Rodgers is doing well enough to warrant another year or 2 in some people's eyes even though his record is worse than any manager we've ever had.

Last week there were people on here saying that he should keep his job as long as we don't get relegated!!!!

The other side to it is that BR has to keep in mind that his comments will get back to the players, hence perhaps why his up- beat assessments. i.e. he needs to keep the players motivated and increase/maintain their confidence levels. It's not his job to tell the truth at press conferences - his job is to say what's in the interests of the club and the team performances.

On refelection I think we need to be patient. The team's playing quite well, he's shown some tactical acumen in recent games, there's some exciting talent on show. Yes, progress isn't as quick as we'd hoped for and BR is still learning through mistakes it seems, but there's enough there to be positive in my opinion.

If he gets through to January without too much turbulence then the next test will be 1. will the owners back him? 2. if they do will he sign diamonds or duds? Allen has been good but by no means sensational and Borini is probably more dud than diamond so far.

Still dont get why this talk of 4th place keeps cropping up, people get a gripp, 4th place was never ever on this season or the foreseeable future, this type of talk and unrealistic expectation levels is what puts managers under pressure. The other thing I dont understand is why are people talking about places, the real measure of if we are improving or not will come at the end of the season when we see how many points we have accumilated, if we finish 10th and had 62 points then for me that would be improvement while at the same time finishing 6th or 7th with 48 points would not be improvement for me...

I think this is a message to the owners. Without serious backing this season would have been a massive success. I think he is hoping that the owners want to acheive more and will give him more funds.

Would you rather we finished on 70 points/5th place or 67 points/4th place...? 2 ways of looking at it....

lets be honest here did anyone at the start of the season with the squad weve got expect us to be challegne for 4th i for 1 didnt , the squad weve got is threadbare a lot of young players and by the way very exciting young players have come into the first team wisdom,suso and sterling a super young players who will benefit us hugely in the coming few seasons with a few more experienced players and the type of football were playin i think we"ll be ok he needs funds desperately in jan and the summer but we cant just keep sacking managers after 10 or 20 games i know the frustrations but weve got to stick with this guy now ask yourself with the players weve got is the football really that bad at the moment i dont think it is we defo need another stricker thou .

I'm wondering if Allens woeful performances in the last few matches are anything to do with a change in this titta-tatta system? I seem to remember the play was always going through him at the start of the season.

Now Enrique and Agger, and Jones use a lot more of the long passing. I always thought BR would have to adapt his system (during interviews at the start he said he was going to replicate the swansea system at liverpool 100percent) .

I have the feeling he has 'given in to the players'. The football is better. Not many chances in the last game but it doesnt matter . Before we were creating chance after chance and not converting.


I think long term the team is playing better, good to watch although its frustrating when the team is missing midfielders of quality. Thumbs up for BR even though you are a bullsh1tter

How Hodgson was treated has nothing to do with BR.

But it seems we now have a group of fans who are judging managers on their performance after 10 games.

That is very big of you.

So when you get your way and have BR replaced who will be next to step onto our managerial roundabout.

Let's make up a list of candidates who have no interest in coming to our club and delude ourselves for another while.

And whilst we'are at it, I have heard on good authority that Messi and Ronaldo are coming here in January.

allen is goin through a bit of a form dip he started of great he was probably are best player in the 1st half a dozen games that was probably his worst game last night but hes not alone SG who i think is probably are best player ever is not doin it either and thats were the problems arise in midfield just dont think the guy can carry anyone anymore his backs probably gone now we do need lucas back to tighten up the middle of the park, but im gonna keep the faith with BR cause we need to give a manager so kind of chance ie 2 or 3 seasons cause were gettin no stability.
