Very hesitant to put another Topic regarding something slightly negative. Its hard to mention many positives at the moment. Im still getting over the fact that we are in 12th.
Im not going to moan or conplain. But i have made a couple of observations regarding the american owners. I remember when they were looking at liverppol or when they were first rumoured in liverpool they were also lookign at arsenal at the same time. There situation died down and was sorted out but when they were in the market for ''buyers'' FSG were mentioned.
After they took over they mentioned many times how they want to run the club and made reference to arsenal over and over again. The stadium, the financial structure, the way the bring through youngsters. blah blah blah, typical talking as usual.
Well my point is this, that works up to a certian point. Arsenal do compete in the champions league. They rarely challenge for the premier league. They sometimes scrap for that fourth spot with everyone else and every arsenal fan i know wants them to spend money instead of the same 'young player with potential type'.( in other words, cheaper)
I do agree that you have to be careful with what you spend aspecialy when you dont have endless amounts of money. In my opinion IF WE WANT TO BE SUCSESFUL WE HVE TO SPEND MONEY SOMETIMES. propper money. If you are sucsesful on the pitch you will increase revenue and earn more money to buy players.
At what point do you have to suck it up and say, we want to compete with the big boys?
Im not saying that FSG want to turn us into arsenal but they want to run the infastructure the same way. That worries me as arsenal cant compete with chelsea man city and man utd.

This is a valid thread... a year ago. Sick of hearing this bullsh!t now. And Arsenal have actually spent a bit in the last 2 summers. We've a game tonight against Anzhi surely we have better things to waste thread space with. This thread is just a few from during the week summarised in to one.

I am convinced that they want to run the club like Arsenal and they hope that the FFP will level things out in terms of spending.

The clubs that are bringing in the most revenue will be able to spend the most money - that's what happens now albeit slightly out of control. And the clubs that are already streets ahead will stay streets ahead as no one else will be able to catch up due to the financial restrictions.

Is there a different ownership model with German teams? Where fans retain a certain stake in the club at a minimum?
Money will always dominate in a global game like football. Salary caps are very hard to implement unless it is done globally otherwise countries without the cap will see an influx of the best players and their teams will dominate continental competitions.
FFP will only stem some of the problems because as Carheex points out, the highest earning teams will still be able to spend more than the Wigans of the world. Liverpool however will be in a good position if and when FFP does come in to force

Well i just think the thread was pointless. I agree with it all though but still its all we talked about all week.. The FFP in my opinion wont level things out much because like what Carheex said the bigger clubs will have alot more revenue so there's still always gonna be a gap between the "small" clubs and big clubs. I think we should have splashed out 100 million in or around this summer or this January BUT we must get top quality players and not just over pay for those who play well against us like KD and DC did. If we splash out now and hope by the time FFP comes in we can be back in top 4 the rest will take care of itself. But I dont think FSG are gonna run us like Arsenal i genuinely think their willing to pay for success after this summers complete shambles but i just dont know something seems sneaky about them.

To be fair this is a topic that needs to be raised because our owners will/can not spend 100mil again.
Why do you think they are willing to pay this January? genuine question.
I think the final part of your post is the most accurate part
