Good piece of journalism here, makes sense of the situation LFC find themselves in.

I thought again, we started the second half quite well on the forward foot but as Newcastle already had the one goal lead they sat back and soaked up the pressure quite well, it was always going to be hard in that situation because two of our three forwards Sterling and Suso both lack experience of breaking down a tight packed defensive unit. I think when we scored the goal Newcastle still never came out to try and take the lead again but instead settled for what they already had and we just could'nt manage to force another goal, It's just a pity that those couple of late chances fell to Jonjo who had only just came on and was still trying to find his match legs. Overall very pleased with the style of football and think if we carry on in this vein it wont be too long before those draws turn into wins, wont be next against Chelsea but maybe against Wigan who we have a dreadful record against.
agreed , another shoulda coulda woulda game , but did enough to win but cant score enough .

I enjoyed the way we played today and have done in a number of games this season so I think we are heading the right direction. Granted our finishing is still s****, but I have my fingers crossed that we can grab someone in January to help with that. if we had any sort of goal scorer in our side they would be scoring tap-ins for fun.
WOW, av seen it all now. red4life is happy with our performance. it make a nice change reading someting positive from you rather then the usual doom and gloom you dish out

we have to measure progress. as a first ten we as you pointed out have 11points a woeful return of 1.1pts per game.
the last 5 we have 9points which gives return of 1.8pts per game. If this continues for the next 5 and maybe even 10 games then we are on the right track.

quite simply we have a very young team developing. Sterling Suso occupy two very important goal contributing positions and as yet have only shown promise. come January I believe we will have two other players who may well be able to offer a little more in terms of goal return.

alot of other things were right yesterday so progress is in my view being made.

cp 72 great post. Although i agree we may be making very slight progress i think we are underperforming. If you look at the teams above we have much better individual players but arent geting the results. Plus i dont need to hear rodgers say the same [oops] week in week out. Just say we could do better and leave with a sour taste in the mouth. DONT STAND AND SMILE AND BE HAPPY WITH A POINT

Agree but nobody is smiling. Rodgers has to say the same things every week. the side that has been playing regular in recent weeks has 6 changes from last season, of which 5 of those are under 22yrs. 3 players have less than 20 first team appearances between them, its not rocket science to see why we are stuttering.

if the quality of the younger players want at a high standard i could go along with that. shelvey allen suso and sterling are all capable of performing better. e. chipping in with more goals.

I'd like to see assaidi get on ahead of downing from now on. I don't think Downing can offer us anything going forward if we don't have AC and even then his crossing wasn't great last year
