So many people "losing patience" and wanting to "bring back Rafa" recently. I can't understand either!
Brendan Rodgers has had 5 months in charge of Liverpool. He has inherited a squad of players and bought in the odd player that he rates highly. In the 5 months that he has been in charge, I have seen Liverpool put in some highly encouraging performances. They look more comfortable on the ball, possession stats are on the up and are creating lots of chances although not being able to finish a lot of these.
So I am wondering what all these expectations are about? I would love to say that I am confident that LFC will finish in the top 4 this season but I honestly can't see it happening. But that doesn't mean I am not willing to give BR time! He needs to be given time and financial backing to buy in players that he feels will add to the philosophy that he is trying to instill at the club. We currently have a very thin squad and IMO are on occasions playing above ourselves considering the many young inexperienced players that are currently being asked to stand up and be counted!
People are coming out saying they have lost faith and patience with the current set up already, and it seems like a lot more of these opinions have surfaced in the wake of our cup exit. Does no one else see how these cup competitions can prove a distraction to our main goal which is right now to get back into the top 4? This view won't sit well with a lot of folk but with extreme lack of depth in the current squad IMO sacrifices have to be made. If this means no league cup run, then so be it.
I am 100% behind BR and what he is trying to do at the club. He needs the support from the fans and the board to be able to take the club forward. Anyone that can't see the positive steps (although small) that have been made since he took over is blind.

look rodgers is not helping himself he does good then like last night does bad , but i dont understand that just appointing benitez will change thing , starters he wont have the millions to spend he craves to do his job , plus have liverpool gone down this road before with dalglish and what a disaster that turned out to be , when everyone thought it would just become good over night because its dalglish .

I understand what your saying Faz, but the league and the league cup are two very different animals! Lets not forget its the players that are doing the work on the pitch! Didn't see the game last night but from what I have heard it sounds like the old story of lack of intensity? Maybe the same old faces given chances and not taking them? I agree with you on Rafa though.

You are right Faz, changing managers every 6 months is not going to help the club. However, we need to have targets to make sure we have the right manager who will make us progress. I don't know what is meant by unfair expectation as it looks to me that a lot here don't want fans to have any expectations at all, except may be not getting relegated. We have every right to expect an improvement over last year which was considered by many as abysmal.

Most fans on this forum were willing to accept this year as a rebuilding year. To see the sort of improvement we want, we need to split the season in to 2 halfs and judge the teams form over the 2nd half of the season, when the players should be far more comfortable with the system and hopefully we get another player or 2 in.

Does this mean that if we are bottom of the league in Jan and then finish just above the relegation zone, you would be satisfied?
