A team won't get relegated because of a dodgy decision - they'll be relegated for being a bit crap over 38 games, but will use the 'excuse' that it was one bad decision and will come out with nonsense like 'we wuz robbed' (sound fmailiar?).

dont think its fair though that millions of viewers can tell if a decision was correct b4 the ref can. tv replays confirmed yday that saurez was onside b4 the match even restarted.
if the whole of the ball has to b over the line for a goal,corner etc, why not make it that the whole of the player has to b off-side to deem it an offense.this wud make it alot easier because there is no consistency in the off-side rule and it needs to be clarified immediatly

Yes but if your team needed a win to stay up and the linesman had a shocker and flagged for offside, therefor denying your team the win that they needed...would your opinion be the same? I doubt it.
Thing is there is always going to be poor decisions. The assistance should be in place when the officials are unsure.

The linesman was perfectly positioned to see the there were TWO Everton defenders playing him onside. The call wasn't even remotely close.

I understand the point Dunk but I disagree. That might have been valid pre Sky days but it does not work in the modern game in my opinion. You could still have debates and disagree with the video conclusion but it would eliminate most of the absurd decisions we are seeing now such as the linesman at Goodison.

Football was better before pre-Sky so I'm happy with that

I was watching a Newcastle vs LFC game last night on ESPN classics, 94/95 season perhaps, the one where Andy Cole scored a hatrick in 30 mins. The first goal was debatably offside but there wasn't a good enough camera angle to make a decision from. The commentator just said, "the big question is was he offside? I don't know, look in the papers tomorrow. It doesn't matter now, Newcastle are one up!" It was a more innocent time.

1. No technology will be introduced during Sepp's reign (of terror)

2. In the interim, I propose that games are reviwed by an independent panel with the correct decision(s) given and ponts awarded, post match.
