Not off side but shouldn't have counted because of Coates climbing all over the everton defender when he headed the ball to suarez.

If you watch that back, Coates jumps cleanly and whoever was marking him backed into him from underneath. Whoever it was, nor anybody else appealed for a foul.

Not sure about that, the Everton defender didn't jump and I don't think Coates blocked him with his hands, you are entitled to jump over the head of your opponent to get the ball + refree didn't see anything wrong with it (but what do they know anyway).

No foul from Coates either. Plus if it was a foul then the linesman wouldn't have called it.

You are consistant like KP says.

A lot are saying Coates fouled the defender but go back and watch it again if anyone has doubts, Coates clearly out jumps the everton player and heads it cleanly. There is no foul whatsoever.

It looked to me like the everton defender didn't jump because he couldn't. You can very clearly see coates's hand on the everton guys shouldersafter he has headed the ball. Irrelevant though if the goals was disallowed for offside.
Has it been confirmed that it was ruled out for offside?

No body knows what the reason was including the referee and linesman.

Just had another look at the vid again now.

As he jumped up Coates never touched the defender. It was him leaning forwards/over the defender and losing his own balance that made him put his hands on the Everton player´s shoulder.

And the defender never even tried to jump up and head the ball, just because he would never have reached it anyway - Coates was faaaar above him there!

If it's taken you 2 days to make a decision we can hardly be angry at the refs/linesmen who have just a few seconds and no alternative angles and slow motion zoom lenses!

coates didnt foul him. ppl are just so used to defenders and goalkeepers gettin the benifit of the doubht in these circumstances. just because its inside the box in the last minute doesnt make it a foul. i woudlnt have been shocked if a free out was given, but they decided to call it off-side instead, again giving the defenders the benifit of the doubht. ( this trend was miracously reversed wen hernedez got the benifit for utd )
