different clubs have different aims us for now is top 4 fa cup europa and then the league cup i know i may take stick for this but i think weve still got an outside chance of top 4 i know it sounds mad but if we can beat everton today were only 3 points of them and our run of games until xmas aint that bad if we can get a decent striker which will be tough in jan then if were there or there abouts we could make a challenge arsenal spurs aint that great this season.

I dont agree with your view that we are a mid table club living on past glories.

And to compare us to forest, Leeds, Villa and Everton is laughable.

We have a huge world wide fan base and it's looks as though we may finally be getting some movement on the stadium.

We are in a much better place than you care to admit but then it is easier to be endlessly negative than ever recognise even the tiniest signs of progress.

You also condemn others on here for their obsession with the Mancs yet you endlessly promote their briliance and dominance every chance you get. STRANGE THAT.

You are the only Liverpool supporter I know that pans his own club without mercy whilst lavishly praising the brilliance of the Mancs. VERY STRANGE

Having a massive fan base is no consolation to the fans if we're struggling against much so-called 'smaller' clubs in the league. I love the club as much as anyone but we ARE a mid-table club living on past glories; I don't see how anyone can argue with that. Any neutral will tell you the same.

We are now yes. But the world does not exist in frameshot. It changes day by day week by week. One advantage we have is the global fanbase as a local person to LFC I have mixed feelings over that but there is no doubt espacially when clubs negotiate individual PPV rights clubs like Liverpool will be light years ahead of the Evertons and Fulhams of this world. I also believe this season a run of results could change expectations dramatically other than the top three in the table the rest is wide open and 2 or 3 wins will change a clubs landscape dramatically. I also believe the team is starting to gell now under rodgers we are stronger at the back and starting to become more difficult to beat. I am optimistic at the moment.

exactly, we have a much bigger fan base than City but who would you rather be right now, fan base means nothing at all, Leeds have a bigger fanbase than Spurs it does'nt do them much good now does it, people need to forget about how many fans a Club has worldwide, it's power and money you want not loads of fans.

whose bothered stanley, Everton are better than us on the pitch right now so how does all this bigger turnover, fanbase, appeal and potential help us now, has'nt done us much good over the last 20 years now has it.

Sorry Heggy but I have to disagree with you here! JC is only stating a fact here because Manure are the one of, if not the biggest club in the world! I wouldn't say that's disgraceful!!

In response to the total of the thread, I believe that's the exact order of priorities and regardless of our current status, to say we will NEVER achieve this again is downright ludicrous! Who jnows what will happen to the clubs ahead of us in the future? their owners could get jack of their clubs and sell to someone crap and they could go backwards just like we have. So to continuously aim for middle ground is just lowering our standards. Never say never because we can all hope and predicting the future us very difficult!

Exactly. Remember a few years ago when Man City were in the old Division 2? Imagine if you'd told them that they'd be winning the Premiership title within 13 years time, they'd never have believed it.
