so it's no longer a football Club but a business or franchise like Tesco, Asda or Marks and Spencer, just that some people still maintain it's a football Club.

It always has been though Joe hasn't it? Even in the 1970's clubs were commercial businesses and most of the money went out of football into the pockets of the directors and all the money as cash through the turnstiles where half of that went is anyones guess. And I remember Liverpool in the 70's and 80's was never fan friendly they treated the supporters like dirt.

I think John Smith, Peter Robinson and David Moores did run the Club to make a profit but at the same team they actualy wanted the Club to succeed, win trophies and be the best, these American Owners want to make a profit but dont care one little bit wether we finish first or fourth from bottom just as long as they are getting the most money they can out of the Club while at the same putting in as least they can, this is the big difference.

How can the club make a profit without doing those things? Silly argument. When has a losing team ever been profitable?

I do understand what Joe is saying to an extent. Moores was not my favourite chairman but you have to conceed he loved the club as much as any fan.

Let's face it, they are in it as it makes/made business sense to them . They got LFC at a bargain, LFC still has a global fan base so can attract sponsors, and they are convinced that FFP will make sure that expenditure goes down drastically. They are milking the global fan base situation already and this might work out with FFP rules.

However, if FFP does not work out, they will need to rethink their strategy, in the mean time, the best that can happen to us is to become another Arsenal. The best means playing attractive football, buy young players on the cheap, sell with a premium if we get an opportunity (Torres like), and at best qualify for champions league.

Anyway, do we really have the right to ask them to pour money like the Sheiks and Abramovich? If we are not happy, the only right we have is not to buy merchandise and match tickets.

Levy, Abromavic, Glazer, Kroenke etc. Their all in it to make the green somehow. But they also know that the only way of doing this is by being successful. Therefore fair enough, let them make as much as they want once they invest in the squad and dont try sucking us dry like the last owners. Amazing how some of our fans become overnight accountants, which is fair enough aswel because were all worried about OUR (Not FSG's) club. Lets just get back to talking on the pitch and see what happens in January.
