I think 8th place come January would be acceptable. Any lower would be disappointing, and any higher would be a bonus, at the moment.

I've answered to that mate, for me, not being in the relegation zone come Jan, and finishing better than last year would be acceptable. Looks like for some it's too much to ask and that these kind of expectations are going to put too much pressure on BR.

there is no difference from finishing between 7th and 14th for me which is where we will most definately finish this season regardless, so why cant we have a trophy too, thats not too much to ask for this squad even though it is poor. We are playing Swansea in the next round of the capital one cup, we have home advantage so if Rogers takes it serious then we should get through, Everton, Spurs, City are already out, either Chelsea or United will go out next round as they are drawn against each other, why cant we go to the final again and maybe with a bit of luck win it, everyone seen the lift the club got last season winning it so why not again. Like I say any fan who does'nt want to win trophies cant be a proper Liverpool fan, they just cant be if they defend a manager who does'nt take them serious.

Did we not go on a horrible streak in the league after winning the League Cup last season?

I know my comment was in reply to yours, but I wasn't aiming that at you, it was just because your comment was the last one before mine

BAR mate, no one read the question I asked except you ,I said Jan 1st not end of season

Me personally I would except being ten points or less away from 4th place.

Then we could reinforce the squad with two strikers and who knows what would be possible.

winning the Carling Cup was the highlight of the season, we finished 8th but I fully expected to finish anywhere between 6th and 9th anyway at the start of the season so even with a terrible run, it made no difference, our first trophy for seven years made the season a good one. I think people need to accept from now on we as a club are only ever going to finish between maybe 5th and 10th each season so when we have a manager that wont take cups serious we will just be another Villa, West Brom or Fulham who always finish mid table and dont win Cups either.

Lads Dunks post had a smiley at the end of it.

I think it was tongue in cheek?

Yeah, I think it was pretty obvious that it was anyway!

No I think you have to accept that others may have greater ambition for the club than you have.

That doesnt make us deluded before you say it does.

I think that declaring the season a success because we won the cup that has had more names than some posters on here is a little sad.

Ater we won it last year it gave the club a great lift, we went on a run that would have embarressed the relegated teams

Wht shouldn't we aim for the Top 4, maybe not this season but in the future?
