I'd take Daniel Sturridge in a heart beat.

I watched him closely when he was at Bolton and for the England under 21s and I really rate him. I can't for the life of me work out why others don't like him. He hasn't been prolific at Chelsea, I'll give you that but then he's been played out of position and is forever playing second or even third fiddle. I'd agree that there is of course players I'd rather we signed before Sturridge but I question how realistic those targets are. On the whole, I can't help but feel that Sturridge would be a good improvement to the squad.

I agree, there are other players I'd rather have.. but please list for me the ones you feel are realistic and likely to want to play for a club currently ranked 14th in the English Premier League. I'm sure even Sturridge feels he's above that but he's a much more likely option in my opinion at least.

Yes KP - tell us about these better options that would be realistic targets for a club in the bottom half...

Not a team player for me. Its all about him and is something I believe Rodgers wouldnt like but could be wrong.

rodgers said we were trying to get sturridge in summer so why would he not want him now. I quote ; ''yea daniel is one of the players we are looking at, well have to see what happens before the deadline''.

It's fair to say Chelsea won't loan anyone out, especially to us their bogey team. They've stated Sturridge won't be loaned out, I think it's good to see us interested in British players still, i'm not even listening to those dreamers wishing, hoping there Xmas wish comes true with (Falcao, Soldado, Huntelaar) all wearing Red. GET REAL!!! To be completely truthful i wouldn't mind tempting both Hooper and Lambert, i know i'll get some stick for saying this but Scottish leagues are [oops] on comparison the the premier league, Lambert played in the lower tiers scored goals and is doing so in the Premier League with the same club and majority of the same players. before anyone slates my 2nd person, look where and what league John Barnes came from first!

HAVENT SEEN ENOUGH OF EITHER PLAYER. I KNOW HOOPER IS GETING GOOD REVIEWS. lambert reminds me of grant holt last season. Hasnt done it this season so far. Its fair to say weve had enough stop gaps,expensive stop gaps at that. its time to buy an experienced quality player for the long term project.

I would have Sturridge if we managed to get him without a massively inflated price (unlikely)

I don't understand some of the criticism of him, I don't really think he's selfish, just predatory which is what all strikers should be. Want a selfless striker then you get Heskey.

Every time Sturridge plays he looks like he wants to show the world how good he is, that's fine by me.

He's played out of position and is 3rd or lower choice for Chelsea most of the time. I'm not surprised he's miserable and maybe tries to go alone a bit more than usual.

He can be a deadly finisher and has some pace. Given a first team run I think he'll do really well.

Whilst Ideally I don't want our strike options filled out with another British player (talk of lambert, hooper etc) I'd change my mind for Sturridge. I have this feeling that he will click for us.

yes heskey was selfless to a degree but i think most of it was lack of believe in his ability ( TBH he didnt have alot of ability). i think he would rather pass to a team mate that was on a worse off position then him because he was scared of shooting and missing.
