Thats probably in the top 1 or 2% of managers honours of all time I'd imagine. His achievements in the past certainly made him a great manager. Maybe he has already peaked and isn't great anymore but he once was and his CV is hard to argue with

1. paisley
2. shankly
3. benitez

How anyone can dislike RB is beyond belief. One of his biggest achievements isn't even on that list......he began the chain of events that culminated in the 'epic swindle'. If BR achieves half of what RB did i'll be very happy. But unless he finshes above 8th this year he doesn't deserve the opprtunity to rub shoulders with mr benitez.

Agreed

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Rafa isn't the manager, Brendan Rodgers is. End of story, there's not a lot to discuss because everything is hypothetical. I'm a Rafa fan but his last season was a disaster. There were a lot of issues going on within the club that you could point the finger at for that, but there's nothing to say if he had've taken over this season, it wouldn't have carried on in the same poor manner.

This comes back yet again to the mindset of the grass always being greener on the other side. Brendan Rodgers is only 7 league games into his job. Not 70. SEVEN! Rafa had 3 defeats in his opening 7 league games, and the opposition wasn't as tough as the start we've had.

Brendan Rodgers comes to our club with a new footballing philosophy. Some of the players, particularly at the back, are not instantly taking to it. It'll take time. I said before that it'll take at least 17 league games to get a bit of a picture of how we're progressing. Realistically we need to be in the top 8 by the start of the new year. I'll make my own judgement of Rodgers at the end of the season.

I'm rather drunk so didn't read further than the first few sentences of you're comment Bar but cant tell you that I absolutely agree with those first few, 100%! Sry for seeming a little ignorant but what's the bloody point in this article??

I really don't get this whole debate.

We have an average to decent squad that has had hardly any time to gel compared to other teams, Rodgers is currently an average to decent manager that is finding his feet at a big club. Will the players and manager develop into top level? Maybe, but they will need time.

Other options, sack him and replace him. Replace him with what? The team is no where near good enough to attract anyone, we don't have a big pot of money, that was the point of Rodgers, who is this top manager that is gonna come in and turn our club around in a week? He doesn't exist, they won't want to come here if they are already that good.

Rodgers isn't an incredible manager, will he ever be? Maybe, maybe not. But who are these alternatives to him? We took a gamble on him, why not see how that plays out rather than lose what we bet without seeing what he can do first.

He's made some errors, some absolutely whopping ones in his first transfer window, but a lot of the players seem to be really behind the plan, for me that is a good sign that he has the players on his side. We really haven't been far off turning draws into wins, and even if two of those 'shoulda been's had been wins, then we would suddenly rocket up the table cause that's the nature of the table this few games in.
