most ppl wud jump at the chance to get twice the market value of their homes in 2days climate. throw in a few season tickets for good measure.although there is no price u can put on a families home, perhaps generations old even, i still think alot of the local objections wud b money orientated in an attempt to maximise their buy-out. i think it wud b sad to see Anfield demolished when u think of the history of the staduim.however, there is no room for nostalgia and sentimental issues in todays football. its dog eat dog and i think a new staduim would b the fresh start LFC need in order to move away from the past and look at the future.
finally, does anyone know if staduim construction is covered on FFP rules? will this mean selling naming rights?

no any capital costs like stadium expansion or training grounds and academy upgrades are exempt from FFP.

Given this scheme is funded by the council in terms of regeneration of L1 I wonder if this could be an opportunity to also redevelop goodison? Not groundshare but shared infrastructure of L1? That way both clubs could moderdise their grounds but with transport links / hotels and infrastruture. I understand there is to be a hotel at Anfield well that could be used by Everton too and vise versa if everton have hotels.

Why is a hotel so important? I saw it mentioned on the bbc report - it suggested to me that the council insisted on having one built as part of the redevelopment plans. What is it's significance?

Sadly just as we all thought its going to be a good while longer yet before we see anything at Anfield, Aquisition of properties = ages, planning permission = ages. It was mentioned this morning On the local radio city that this afternoon at 4 oclock is all the news up to date on this subject you may be able to listen to it on the computer too?

I worked in the hospitality at Anfield and unless the Main Stand is knocked down and completely rebuild, then there is no room for extra hospitality.

The rooms are already pack in like sardines!!

Did they all have moustaches and perms.....?

Even if the away support is largely from the city of liverpool, very little of it will be from the area affected by the redevelopment plans. Whilst there may be some sympathy for those being 'forced out' I can't see lifelong reds boycotting the club in anyway, especially as the plans are to move the club forward.
The support will come from the same places it has done for the last 30 years+....outside of Liverpool
be interesting to see where the support for the last 30 years goes too if we remain an established mid table Club, for the next 5 years or so especialy with Manchester City planning on world domination with training complexes better than the one the F.A have just built for 100 million pounds, City building that proves they are in it for the long haul.

i think its great that they are going to redevelope anfield , first and foremost cus it will be cheaper than if they build a new stadium costing extra millions which would cost us even more for entrance fees
