Some would say Hodgson but for me he does not even come close to King Kenny. Hodgson is now the england manager and doing a fair job of it. Club legend yes of course but manager not in a million years
Could not of put it better myself stan, me and you remember the so called King from his first spell where he knocked us off our perch, just a pity the Owners and quite a few fans on here never listened, this is the whole point I try to make about there being no sentiment in football, it's ruined our once great Club.

Sorry mate, I don't understand how he knocked us off our perch. As much as I can remember, we were still competing for honours and the top position in the season he left, isn't it? We still had a number of top class players including digger Barnes and a few young players who followed in the team just after, Fowler, McManaman etc. I was very unhappy when he left, but, he said he was burned out with the events and felt he could not give his best. Can you blame somebody for being exhausted and feeling he is not up to the job.
He allowed the team to grow too old, the man took his eye of the ball and Dalglish started the slide into oblivion which still exists to this day. I think you mention a few top class players, your right we did have them only problem they were top class in name only by then, Barnes was injury ravigged, Beardsley was old and not as effective without Adridge and Rush to bail him out with goals, Grobbelaar, Venison, Hansen, Nicol, McMahon, Hysen and Molby to name but a few were all 30ish and over with there best days well behind them and who could ever forget when Dalglish really lost the plot and signed David Speedie and Jimmy Carter. Yes, the rot definately started with Dalglish, the Job Souness had to to when he came in was virtualy impossible, even though he never helped himself with some of the stuff he done.

The rot maybe started with him, but, we'll never know as in the season he left as I said we were competing hard to win trophies including the league. Maybe he would have started to change the team if he had stayed as he did at Blackburn, the next team he managed, this also we'll never know. The only thing we know is that he won the league with us and Blackburn, our last manager winning the league, our last manager to have won a trophy and one of the rare managers to have won the Premiership. The rest is only speculation. Anyway it's your opinion and I don't agree. No problem if you don't agree with me.

Kenny was a legend as a player as a manager he was hopeless. His second stint could have doubled up as a comedy film.

I think hindsight is a great thing in football, I think for me and you stan and maybe a few other older supporters we can all remember the end of Dalglish's first stint, I think the younger followers only hear about Dalglish the legend so they probably never realised, his true impact of what he was capable of, maybe ask a Celtic or Newcastle fan, so like I say I dont really blame the younger fans for wanting Dalglish as manager when they have probably heared all the great stories about him, they know now though which is the most impoertant thing, worst manager in over 50 years.

I just don't see the point in bashing Dalglish anymore. He did well for the club - made some mistakes - just let it be!
I would like nothing better to put all the Dalglish thing out of the way unfortunately due to all the damage he caused while he was here our current manager is paying the heavy price with a near impossible job to do, this is why Dalglish and his mistakes keep cropping up.
