Shearer's (and other pundits) job is to give unbiased opinion based on their knowledge of the game. BR's role is to defend his signing to the Nth degree even when most people can see how limited joe allen is. I'll take the opinion of the unbiased man thank you very much - it would be foolish not to.
Yes I agree that BR will defend his players to the Nth degree but do you understand what Allens position in the team is at the moment? Whilst Lucas is out of the side he needs to be the defensive midfielder to keep our shape so Gerrard and Shelvey (when playing) can push forward. Allen will be released and I think we will see a more attacking style and passing game from him once Lucas gets back!
As a few other have asked, do you support any of our players because you certainly seem to slate quite a few of them?
I give praise where it is due. I don't go overboard when someone does something decent/bad and I am consistent with my opinions - you won't get knee jerk comments from me.
If I slate a player it's because they deserve it - and quite frankly, when Liverpool football club are sitting near the bottom of the league there are a lot of players worthy of slating. Just because I support the club, it doesn't mean I have to proudly announce that all of our players and manager are totally awesome regardless of overwhelming contradictory evidence. Some fans prefer to bury their head in the sand almost as if they don't give t0ss. There you go.
