Do we need a rock?

Just thinking are we short of a solid vocal stopper at the back who organises the back line and keeps order? Like Carragher was in his heyday or date I say it John Terry?

Agger and Skirtel are ok but seem a bit in their own world to me.

Yes we do need a striker or two clearly but have events this season also shown us this position is equally a big gap for us.

What do you think?

All the goals we concede lately seem to be down to individual mistakes rather than poor orginisation this year, so in my opinion no we dont need that.

I think these errors will go away over time and would be more worried if the goals were coming from a poor system or poor orginisation.

If anyone can think back to the start of last year swansea went trough this very same problem with shipping poor goals from sloppy passes in defence but by oct nov the had sorted out all these problems and were a very solid backline from there on in.

Again i know it keeps being said but we have to have some patience and believe in wat the managment are doing and we will come good in the end i have no doubt about that.

I think we would benefit from a voice within the defense but last night they scored say two decent goals so credit where credits due, it would help if Reina got his confidence back as it was clear last night at least he has lost command of his area as he once did. A mixture of young/new players who are naturally quiet or just haven't the confidence to shout commands yet aren't helping along with the senior players who aren't vocal either, so yeh we need a shouter.

last year stevie clarke set up the same defence and it was one of the best around..now its asked to move up the pitch and not have the protection it used to get and we are struggling more. skrtel may always have a prob with tiki taka defence so maybe a more mobile and confident Centre half might be required but i don't think its a talking thing,not really..the better we get at tiki taka the less we will have to defend.

I think it's been questioned on here if Lucas will get back in the team when fit again,well the answers pretty bloody obvious really.

i'm not so sure..he played the west brom game and that was the biggest disaster so far. he is great in the big games like to stick on yaya or something.but can he play tiki taka as good as allen or gerrard or even shelvey or sahin.

Probably not but he can tackle and track back better than all of them put together and after a run in the team who knows.

Am I the only one who thinks that header by Coates last night merits a closer look? It looked to me that it was aimed exactly where it went.

I think a top center back should be as much of a priority as a striker. Skrtel has had long enough now and proved time and again he's not reliable
