KD and Comolli cannot be blamed if we do not improve over our last year's results. But of course they are to be blamed for last years results and they were sacked for it.

Agree for our position and results last year but not this year. KD finished 8th and was in 2 cup finals winning 1 with the crap he bought. BR spent between 20-30m to improve the squad. So we cannot blame the former regime if we decline over last year.

Most of the teams above us spent big amounts. Spurs and Arsenal spent a lot of money, but they did have the luxury of selling their players for a lot. And United, Chelsea and city all spent a lot of money without offloading many players or making a profit. While Everton and Newcastle didn't spend to much. While we did spend more than Everton, Newcastle and Arsenal. We probably spent bout the same as spurs but they brought in much more quality because they had money from sales to spend, while City, United and Chelsea spent big dollars.

So it's not like we were the only team strengthening, others were too, and more so, because unlike us, they could sell their players because they were actually quality and sought after, unlike us, we couldnt get rid of any of our players except for Adam. By the sound of it we tried, but no teams wanted the [oops] that Camolli blew last years budget on.

I don't actually blame the owners, why would they waste money like that again. It was down to Kenny and Camolli to make the most of it, and they made one ugly mess of it. Which is costing us now.

It's not like we were the only team that spent money to strengthen, Rodgers had a battle from the go.
top post. shame same people dont get it

The problem is that we are at the start of a journey. Rogers has a football philosophy, and the majority of the team did not fit this.
Rogers brought in his wreaking ball and broke up the squad. His vision is a longer term plan and is not designed to bring instant success. It needs to be built.

I believe we are in a worse situation today than had Kenny remained as manager, but at the same time I can see what is trying to be achieved and believe it was the correct decision, as the potential for progress and entertainment is greater.

Some teams get relegated before they are forced into changes. We have done so early, took two steps back, but hopefully we can take strides forward in the coming years.

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark

Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk

You'll never walk
You'll never walk alone.

Yes, but all of the teams you mentioned were above us last year and as you said Everton and Newcastle spent less that us. In addition, we did not lose any major player bar probably Bellamy (but he couldn't play regularly) and both Arsenal and Spurs lost one of their most influential players, who they were unwilling to sell. Which team below us spent more that us? In any case, BR was recruited I would think to improve, not stay as we are.

I don't think BR is making excuses and we should do the same.

KD went backwards. BR was recruited as part of a long term strategy.

I can understand young kids having no patience, but adults should have the intelligence to see the greater picture. Instant success was never to be expected. BR can only be judged against himself as the lfc manager. We need to look for signs of development, and hope that these don't stop until we are at the top.

I fully believe we are beginning to play better football. It is more controlled, more pleasing to watch. We obviously have an incomplete squad and are having teething issues with the new system. Only the arsenal game did we deserve to lose.

Our revenue / expenditure should place us 5th in the league. That is the true figure of how something drastic needed to be done.

This journey we are on might not work out. The potential progress might not work out and the system could be flawed. We can't make a judgement on it till the plan is given time to bed in. The second half of last season we where the 17th worst team. On that basis we have not really gotten any worse, but looking at the positives I can only see a brighter future, and I can take another season rollercoaster if at the end we show movements in the upwards direction.

At the end of the day we are going through a storm. We should hold our heads up high and have hope that at the end of the storm we have a golden period.

See what i did there? :-P

What would make you feel that we are on track of the long term strategy you are talking about, ie, getting out of the storm? By playing what you say well? What does playing well mean exactly, high possession pleasing football? ManUre are experts in the counter attack game and very often you would see them not "playing well" at all but for some small periods when they would just increase pressure and score. Does that mean that they are not playing well? No it just means that have a different system. Playing well is when you win games. Chelsea won the Champions league by playing what can be called negative/defensive football, but they played it well.

Out of the 5 games, the only one we deserved a better result was the ManUre game, because of the mistakes of the refree, not because we had more possession. Do you know that with higher possession we have less chances than last year?

The only think I am saying is, the proof that we are on the right track is to improve over last season, not now but at the end of the season, but, it looks like some fans want to give blank checks around. Great

Against West brom, they scored against the run of play and we faded. A draw would not have been an unfair result. (DRAW)
We gave City 2 goals. A win would not have been unfair to them. (WIN)
Arsenal was a fair result (LOSS)
Against Sunderland they had one shot on target and scored, if they lose it would not have been unfair to them. (WIN)
Against ManU a draw would have been fairer if not a win. (DRAW)

That would be 2-2-1 and 8 points, and would not be unfair to the other teams.
